Status: offline 		I am experiencing some regret over the loss of all the minesweepers and little **** like that in Operation Premature Incarceration. They seldom get the attention of the larger combatants.

Time to take a few moments to remember and recharge for the Northern Luzon landing.

Status: offline 		I watched the replay as well. Found this out.


1) The fighter sweep over Ramree came from two bases, most likely Rangoon and somewhere in central Burma, Magwe or Mandaray? This means the calculus about JJ stripping their CAP over Rangoon is wrong. It will still be hotter than Hell for Arried bombers. Maybe 1 day of P-38 sweeps and then send in the bombers on day 2?

2) The medium bombers over Port Blair are coming from the mainland, Tavoy or Bangkok maybe? The Sonias are at Port Blair. This, of course, means we won't be able to stop the attacks on the Port Blair force by putting Port Blair airfield out.

3) Amazingly, our recon activity over Flores and Koepang has apparently caused JJ to reinforce both. There are now well over 30K troops at Koepang.

4) Air raids over Chungking were unescorted this turn. Ambush opportunity. Dont know where our fighters will come from.

5) The LYB unit SE of Ramree either crossed the river or they went jungle on us.

6) Aparri is apparently operational as an airfield on Luzon.

7) San Jose FINALLY went level 2. This pushes the SBD attack range forward about 200 miles, now covering Clark, Manira and out into the South China Sea almost to the Spratleys.

8) Milo's new breastaurant at Batangas is open and there is a long line to get in.

9) Finished Quartered Safe Out There. Wonderful book. Makes you want to go to India..but not Burma.

Here is my question. If you are under one of those PBY's dropping fire retardant, would you still be able to play WITP/AE or would you have to switch to a first person shooter or Castleville or something like that?

Status: offline 		The fight heats up....not with JJ...but with my HOA. I ask for a deadline extension on a paint job because they took 2 1/2 weeks to get back to me on where I could get the damn form for their benevolent approval to change from Eastern Pale Morning Dun to Western Evening Sage.

That is not a crazy idea. I am pretty sure I could get the whole street to go along after the way they treated us with the "no left turn" edict. There is only one way out. We could put a smoothbore Napoleon loaded with grapeshot down at the end of the street and have all the stay-at-home wives man the thing. Of course, they could blockade us too. That would be bad.

Status: offline 		I can answer that - I have been dropped on many times and I am still not a first person shooter type.

Depending on plane height being in the drop zone can run from mildly annoying (I have boots and sunglasses stained that unique red shade; had a bald volunteer chief who looked like he had a viscous sunburn for about 10 days-6 years later the inside of his command rig is still red), to downright dangerous.

I have worked ground under air support on a lot of fires and you would be surprised the variation in quality of the pilots - we had one outfit that the safest place to be was where they were supposed to be dropping. (They were missing an active fire by literally miles..) Then you occasionally run across the mythical 'old, bold pilot' and my god are they good. I had one guy dropping downhill in a canyon greater than 800 ft deep with a nasty 90 degree turn at the end and I swear on two consecutive runs I had the mike open to get recovery operations going.

Chopper pilots are an interesting group as well. Had a NG unit just back from Afghanistan helping us with bucket work on a fire we had to have a talk with. One of the pilots was having trouble letting go of the low level egress SOPs and kept blowing through the 20 man crews with the bucket about 3 ft off the ground which was dangerous but funny to watch.

On a hot day, with a working fire when they are bringing water in you try and sneak under their flight line to cool off from the bucket slop over in the rotor down wash. The choppers are really effective and accurate.

Yer right. "Exploding enflagration" doesn't have a very good ring to it in a formal salutation though, does it? Also, "All may kneel, trembling before us" didn't do very well in the Berchtesgarten HOA marketing focus group.

I'm guessing Sian has enough dried fish head soup and knee mortars to supply via the rail to the NW, thence southward down the Yeti Trail to the Valley or Mordor.

It could also be Inchon to Novosibirsk to Minsk to Ulan Bator and then Lanchow thence southward down the Yeti Trail to the Valley or Mordor.
