Hello there folks, I am new here, I have trying understand this game out and I gotta say the more I play (and learn) the more I love it.

I am having some problems with what units to select.
(I am curr playing as German against SO)

Is there a easy way to see what tank,or what ever, is "better" then the other, and under the Misc button there are some strange units like the gun team, pack mule, barge carrier,HQ tent.??......is there a list that tells what eatch unit are suppose to do?

I just found out last week how to do a para drop and that my Spec Ops sq could infiltrate deep behind enemy lines.

And when the troops are deployed before first turn there is a button that says "AI level 0" I can change the number to what ever but what is it??

Hey Rompa and welcome to the game!

Always nice to see another Meatball on the forum! :D :D

Your first question specifies, I think, the same questions any player goes through every time he purchases his weapons of destruction. I mostly go by experience, after some time you get the "feel" for how certain tanks behave in combat. :)

You can always look at the unit cost vs. survivability, fire control, range, size (harder to spot and hit), armor, pen values of the gun, etc etc etc. There's so much that makes up what is a 'tank' in the game. It's also of great importance what you're up against!

Vs. Soviets - SO units are sensitive to suppression, i.e. tanks that can deliver alot of ordnance onto a target will be great. Early year (-42), you'll do fine with a heap of PzIII's with support of heavier guns and PzIV. Later, you gonna need those cats! And, due to size and fire control, a StuG is almost always worth it's money. :D (hint: a PzII can be deadly in close range, but it's armor is less than good)

Gun team and Mule packs do the same thing - they carry stuff around the battlefield. (look at the load/carry values). A Barge carrier does just that - only useful if you need to cross large bodies of water.

Yeah I am now at 7/-43 and I have 1 Tiger sq and they are great, I think the 88 AT guns are great also I got 1 sq of them too.

You are right, I gues experiece will tell what to chose

I think the Defend scens are a litle to easy with those 88´s knocking out all Soviet armor at big distanses, but heck I dont whine over it :p

So a barge carrier, carries a barge ?? what u know..
What is a barge then?

The 88's ARE lethal, to any target at any distance, be it they stand on their own or are mounted inside a Tiger. :D :D

If you'd play against another human, you'd probably find your precious ATG's covered in smoke in no time. You can't kill the enemy if you can't see him...

Barge = 'pråm'. ;)
A Barge carrier carries the barge to the desired point to enter a river.
