Or the beginning , if you aren't a pessimist

These are the Nullabor Cliffs that stretch between Western and South Australia. Makes up most of the Great Australian Bight. So, heads up, bring some grappling hooks the next time you're thinking of invading Australia.

I see a UFO landing strip there. I won't be needing any grappling hooks.

Well considering most invasions will be from the north & those are on the south/west, it's more likely you will need to put some soft padding at the bottom when you're pushed off of them

Did anyone notice that looks like the West Coast of the US after California breaks off and goes out to sea?

You can even see the Western state line of Nevada.

You would need transports with escalators to scale those

They can be up to 300ft high.

There are a number odf viewing points along the Nullabor Hwy which allows you to get far too close!

The Nullabor Plain alone is 1/3rd the size of Texas.

That means it's not even 1/7th the size of Alaska. Don't you Aussies try to flaunt the fact that you have a whole continent to yourselves to us Yanks. It's very unseemly of you, you know.

Just curious, though. Why is the Nullabor Plain alone? Does it have bad breath or something?

It would be about 1/20th the size of Alaska if they flattened it out!

What's your problem, dont like sharing with our Colonial brothers?

They add a bit of class to the area.

Unopposed landing? Maybe not.

Land in the Eucla area where the cliffs are about 10 km inland and the sand dunes go down to the beach.
Of course they are massive sand dunes.

In WW2, you would be interdicting a rarely used dirt track, the rail line is about 200km inland.

A really sad story.

Many, many years ago I had some mates who liked to go hunting. (I the hills behind Omeo, look for Sale in WITPAE)

I had not long returned from WA and got invited, I was an average to good marksman.

Someone mistook a wombat for a 'roo, have no idea how??

They sat it up against a log, ciggy in mouth, Collingwood scarf & beanie (Think Man U or Yankees in Aussie Rules) and took photos.

Very sad people.

(Last time I went shooting as well)
