Uhm, no, that's not it. Loading boats is a different procedure: the boat has to be in an adjacent hex, and is the unit that the "L"oad command is used upon. It then sucks the loading unit (my, that sounds rude ) up from the adjacent hex, ta-daaa! Now comes the problem. It's got capacity still - multiple units came out, the numbers work out, it *should* be doable... but "L"oad gives you the message "CAN'T UNLOAD HERE" due to the water depth. And nothing will "L"oad to an adjacent hex. Just did a quick and dirty test - I managed to get eight units (USMC Infantry x6, USMC Platoon HQ, USMC HQ) into a standard (non-edited) LCM, in-game... by deploying the LCM onto dry ground. (Might've taken more, too, but I only had that many there for the test. Hmmm. How many guys are supposed to fit in one, anyway...) They'll happily clamber aboard if they can be in the same hex - usually, tho, if the water's deep enough for the boat to be there, it's too deep for units to move into. ("JA Gun Team FLOODED OUT!" Hmm. My horses are full of water, I guess.) It's probably just one of those minor annoying bugs that will be beaten out of the next product(s)... but when your points depend on how many units you evacuate, with a whole herd of annoyed Wehrmacht catching up fast, it's a pain to shuttle one unit at a time across to the exit hex. (St. Nazaire again.) Ah well...
