I've done a fresh install of all the DW components (Base game - Shakturi - Legends - Shadows) with no errors.

When I bring up the game menu, not only does it show the old "Play Distant Worlds - Legends" graphic, but the game will not start and reports

"There is an error with your serial number as entered. Please contact support@matrixgames.com for assistance. Error code: 300"

When I log into Matrix Members, I don't even see the key I received when I bought Shadows...

DXDIAG attached... I am also emailing support since this appears to be a license issue?

Sounds more like an installation and access issue. It's basically saying the installer was not able to complete its job. Could you please try reinstalling, but make sure all anti-virus/security software is first turned off and that you are running as administrator?

That did not help.

1. Uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials and DW. Deleted DW folder.

2. Installed each DW product up to Legends as Administrator (base game, Shak, Legends). Legends starts fine.

3. Same error appears


Wait... I think that I don't have the correct file. I re-downloaded the file from the Plimus email and it's called DistantWorlds-SetupRelease-v1060-DR.exe. Did I somehow purchase the wrong game?! Gack!!

And that was it. Purchased Shadows last night and installed it and it ran fine. Oops.
