Here is a copy of a PM that I sent to a friend here a while back. Check it out for yourselves. Ought to clear up a few things, and maybe others can provide data for the classes I haven't mentioned. This data is not complete, as not all classes have been tested. The formula will always be as follows: # x Systems Damage +11 for the Japanese. # x Systems Damage +19 for the Allies. The numbers 11 and 19 represent the number of days that the ship will spend in transit back to Tokyo or Pearl, and seems to remain constant regardless of damage or top speed. # will always represent the number of days taken to repair 1 point of systems damage. Examples: Japanese ships damaged during tests: DD Kazegumo 47 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 58 days before she is available again. 1 x 47 + 11=58. CL Naka 24 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 35 days before she is available again. 1 x 24 + 11= 35 CL Agano 18 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 1 x 18 + 11 = 29. CA Tone 85 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 2 x 85 + 11 =181. CA Ashigara 23 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 2 x 23 + 11 =57. CA Mogami 50 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 2 x 50 + 11= 111. You can see the pattern emerging, but in larger ships, depending on the class, the # value can vary. BB Nagato 21 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 5 x 21 + 11 = 116. BB Haruna 29 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 4 x 29 + 11 = 127. CV Kaga 31 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 4 x 31 + 11 = 135 CV Shokaku 37 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 4 x 37 + 11 = 159. CV Soryu 54 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 3 x 54 + 11 = 173. CV Hiryu 29 sys dam upon leaving Truk, 3 x 29 + 11 = 98. (which is why I love Hiryu and Soryu.) Allied ships damaged during tests: DD Hull 35 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 35 x 1 + 19 =54 CL Achilles 28 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 28 x 1 + 19 = 47. CLAA Juneau 32 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 32 x 1 + 19 = 51. CA Indianapolis 45 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 45 x 2 + 19 = 109. CA Chester 49 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 49 x 2 + 19 = 117. (Note: Chester had an 8 in. turret destroyed and the # value didn't change.) BB No. Carolina 77 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 77 x 5 + 19 = 404. BB So. Dakota 16 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 16 x 6 + 19 = 115. ( Note: So. Dakota had a 16 in. turret destroyed and the # value is 6.) BB Colorado 16 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 16 x 4 + 19 = 83. ( Note: All of the pre-war BB's have a # value of 4.) CVL Princeton 38 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 38 x 2 + 19 = 95. CV Lexington 38 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 4 x 38 + 19 = 171. CV Enterprise 12 sys dam upon leaving Noumea, 3 x 12 + 19 =55. ( And you just gotta love THAT!) And that's all of the data that I have.
