Everytime I jump with a big fleet into an enemy system with many mining stations and a planet with a space port and some defensive bases they will ALWAYS immediately jump to the planet after killing the initial target, regardless of the fact that it is suicide. I remember I was able to somehow tell my fleets not to do that, but now they will, no matter what stance I put them in. Now I need to babysit everything.

I have not noticed anything new. They always required babysitting. Queuing a bunch of attack orders on the mines could keep them busy for a while.

hmmm must be the fact that I haven't played for a year then... still, this is my number one annoyance from playing a couple of hours so it would be nice if it were fixed :)

This was always broken like this...

But it is more noticeable when you are pirate, because your ships keep getting themselves killed and they are f**** expensive.

I had a capital ship once with tier 7 tech, 800 size, 400 firepower, kill itself that way (I sent it to a system to steal a resort, and the first thing it did was STOP attacking the resort, jump RIGHT OVER the large spaceport, and get shot at by the spaceport and 2 defense batteries and one weapons platform, getting killed before it could reengage the drive again (ie: as soon as it jumped I told it to jump back).

Yes! that's exactly the bahaviour I'm talking about. It's driving me mad, and also causing the AI to lose quite a few ships. This should really, really be improved!

The only way I found to keep ships from jumping around and disobeying is to change the global default stance on the "Empire Settings" to "no default stance". That way you can set your fleet's stance to, let's say, "only attack nearby targets" or "only attack if attacked" and they'll obey and not start to jump around. At the moment the game is resetting the stances to default automatically (system targets I think) after a while. So, that's why they disobey and start jumping around. I think that should be fixed, for manual controlled fleets the player's designated stance should not be overridden.

This was further discussed here.

Ah, i missed that thread. Thanks. Very good to know that they're going to work on this! Just something so that fleets (or even worse, individual ships from fleets!) don't come near space ports unless ordered to would already solve this for me.

And good work on your website adam, I'm a big fan! (posting there under the name of benji)
