After a break I decided to give AE another try. But I have gotten a new PC with an Intel quad-core CPU running 3.5gHz with 8GB ram, running Windows 8.

I got the game to run but it responds very slowly. When I click on something it takes 5 to 10 seconds or more to respond, making for a unplesant and unplayable expierence. I tried the -dd_sw switch but it makes no differnence.

Any suggustions,.

You might want to try the -cpu4 option. Link below on the same issue which was resolved this way.

I just bought a new PC w/Windows 8 & I'm having a similar issue, but only when I'm on the map, when I'm any other screen everything seems to work as it should.

NEVER MIND FOR NOW, I JUST READ THE POST STARTED BY COLLINGWOOD & I'LL GIVE THE RECOMMENED FIX SHOWN THERE A TRY.
