Sorry for being so OT here but my DSL at home I broken and I need to keep on playing from home where, at the moment, I only have a dial-up 56k connection ...takes something like 1,30 hours to send a pbem turn

The question is, as far as u know, is there a way to use the iphone5 connection as a "bridge" for a normal pc (not a mac one)? I tried to connect the iphone with the usb cable (the one you use for iTunes etc) but I don't see how I can use its connection as a router...

Thanks for any tip

You can set-up your iPhone as "HotSpot" for WiFi and connect your PC to it (please note some of the US ISPs have policy against that "Tethering")...

Thanks Leo!

Unfortunately both my old desktop and my new laptop at home don't have a working wiFi system. The laptop would have it, but it never worked and I have always been to lazy to bring it back to the assistance, while my old desktop (actually the only one which can connect with the dial-up connection) never had a wifi system..

I should have been clearer: is there a way to use the Iphone as a modem, so an hotspot but "cable" ?

GJ, you should be able to copy the save file to your phone if it's connected via USB cable, and then send it via email from your phone. Not sure if file size limits for your mobile email would interfere or not.

That's a great idea Mike! I don't know how to do it (I knew I had MANY problems moving my mp3 files from the Pc to Iphone not using iTunes) but I will try to do it as soon as I get back home.

But there's another problem I don't know how to solve. I need to DL the latest patch in my old case and with the dial-up connection it simply takes forever (also the zipped files are always corrupted when downloaded with a slow connection, for some reasons), and Safari doesn't let me download any zipped files. Is there a way to bypass the problem and DL the newest patch with Iphone?

Thanks guys, and sorry for being so ignorant in computer stuff

just download it onto your smartphone from your email account and transfer it via cable to your laptop, just the other way around you do when sending a turn. Should work just fine, have done so myselve all the time when using my company's laptop on business trips where I am not allowed to download these files directly onto the laptop (but I can using a cable - lol )

Does anyone know if he can set up an LAN between his PC and his Apple product (either cable or radio) and would that save any trouble in the future?

Thanks again guys. I've done what CT said and now I realize that it was the obvious solution... sometimes my brain simply stops working

Thanks again!

As Apollo11 have said, tethering should work for you.

I am not sure about Iphone (you would be better with some "normal" smartphone, which do not need 300Mb interface downloaded, to use it with PC, but SONY is the only company I know, which do not need it ), but most Android phones allows tethering by WiFi, USB, or Bluetooth. If WiFi do not works in your Laptop, Bluetooth should always. You basically use your phone as modem (and it is quite slow, but surely better, than 56k)

Remember - that when you turn on Bluetooth - it will be probably considered "unsafe", and your device will be hidden for all alien devices - you have to set it to visible manually, and pair with your laptop/phone.

Connect your iPhone to the computer with its USB cable.

Turn on personal hotspot, select "USB & Bluetooth". The computer will go through some installation mumbo jumbo, eventually the network dialogue box will appear - choose "Home" network.

The phone should now be a tethered modem, if your ISP allows it.

Why don't you just use the WITP Mobile App?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you have I-Phone; it only works on Android OS

Yes. Stunning. Absolutely un-be-lieve-able!

I hear the Platinum version also comes with these two useful additions:
