I will complain about something very small which bothers me quite a bit. Can we make sure that all drop down menu selections in various screens: Expansion Planner, Ships and Bases, etc. are remembered each time you open it? Most of the time I want to see the list of military ships for example and every time I go in Ships and Bases screen, I have to re-select it from the dropdown menu. You can argue you don't want to select the same item every time but in practice I think people check the same things over and over so it would be better if selections were remembered.

In fact, I will go so far to say EVERY dropdown selection in the game should be remembered.

Thanks.

I bet intelligence agents will break my mouse some time when I have to find that one tech to steal from one out of 35 empires plus pirates. And everytime I select another faction, that damn menu needs to be adjusted again.

That's part of the reason that I modded shipNames.txt to add an asterisk to all military ships. They now filter by to the top by default. :)

But yes, it would be handy if all dropdowns were remembered. 90% of the time I call up ships and bases, I want to look at military ships.

Dropdown selections AND pretty much everything else throughout the game that has a dropdown menu or a slider. Just a minor annoyance though.

I totaly agree, too. It's no fun to always select the filter, every few minutes, even with special ship names :).
In addition I like a few fast selection buttons next to drop down menu of "Ships and Bases", for the most important type, Military Ships, Exploration Ships, Troop Transports.

I almost never have a reason to look at other than Military Ships, yet I have to select it over and over again. Maybe minor, but still annoying.

If people start complaining about something like this, than there must be nothing serious left to complain about. Is the game this perfect already?

Also it would be great if F10 could be configured to pull up military ships instead of construction yards. I rarely have to pull up construction yards since my spaceports are usually hotkeyed.

As per my sister thread about AutoIt scripting, you could indeed make a script that after hitting F10 would bring up the Ships screen and filter out the Military ships for you. Dead easy (with some adjustments for automatic recalculation of mouse click position based on the game screen size on the player's monitor)...

I don't want to install AutoIt and make a script for a small change, that takes maybe 5 hours to program, but stopped me (and maybe a lot of other player) from play legends.

You do not need to.
If people can suggest what the most used "setups" for a macro keystroke are during gameplay, I can experiment with it myself

Therefore I created the sister topic, so if you are interested, head there and suggest away!

Or its just a case of some times the one little thing really annoys you to no end. Personally the drop down menus are literally the last item on my list of stuff to do. And there really are only a couple of other game play items left for me.

And just food for thought here:

Ships and bases menu needs to be filterable by class. IE I need to be able to bring up only escorts if all I want to look at is escorts for example.

Given the number of defects that directly effect game play, I have to say it's more than a "couple".

This should be an extremely trivial fix. It's already saving other settings - so all Elliot has to do is add the missing items. A fix should take a couple of lines of code per item at most.

Good luck with that, I have been trying for years to get the last selected resource in the Galaxy map to be changed so that is remembered when you reopen it, as it stands now you open the map, select the resource, go to the resource, re enter the Galaxy map and then have to scroll through the resources again, makes nekros stone resource hunts a very tedious affair when setting them up for mines.

+1 to this. It's one of those things that actively annoy me during playing. Would be great to have this fixed.

Unless this is logged as a defect in the tech support area, it will be ignored. At least there, it will only probably be ignored.

+1 to this.(drop down box remembers previous setting. ALSO, ability to change size (length of drop dow box, so I can 'stretch' it to show the entire list, and elim/minimize the click/scroll tedium.

If you all want this remembered how about having troop selection remembered too, it's insane that the dropdown, scollbar and cursor position reset after every click in the colonies screen. Moving a bunch of troops to transports is like a vacation in hell.

It would be nice if you could shift-click to select a group of troops at once. Or to just hit a button to transfer all available troops to orbiting transports.
