Two of my Commanders; Fisher and Joffre have fulfilled their requirements but even after a couple of turns have not appeared in the Production Queue, so I cannot attach them to a unit. Am I missing something here or is it a bug. I am running the game (vers 1.30) on a Windows 7 64bit platform.

Help would be appreciated

Just an update to my request for support. I have checked my drivers they are all up to date. I am attaching a saved game file to illustrate the problem. At present I have three commanders who have green ticks against them in the Production/Commanders display which I understand means that they are available for attachment to a unit. However I do not see them in the Production Queue and therefore do not see how to attach them otherwise. Am I missing something or is it a bug? Has anyone else experienced this problem. As I said in my first post I am running on a Windows 7 64bit OS and operating the game as a Single Player. Everything else in the game appears to be working fine I have no other problems but this commander bug (?) is seriously handicapping me

Comments and help would be appreciated

Have experienced similar problems also (keep an eye on kill ratios). Seems like if the AI butt is getting kicked, the computer cheats by holding back the release of commanders. Have seen where a 1915 or so Commander never get's released, dispite meeting all the requirements. Yes! It is a bug, however, in my case I just keep on playing.

Thanks for the response operating. Can you tell me do any of these commanders ever turn up, are they just late or do we have to do without them (on the player side) completely? The computer side seems to be crawling with them.

Perhaps a moderator will advise us whether this is being worked on.

We are looking into this, we have not seen it before so it is guessing for us as well at this point what coud be the bug... thanks for the report.

Leb Have not been been playing lately, also, I am not absolutely sure if one of the in question commanders finally dropped into game play at some point. It is summer, so I am outside building stone walls and carving rock, quite a bit now. Maybe when the weather goes bad, I'll stay in for a few days and give it another shot.

Well I bought 'The Guns of August' at the same time as 'Commanders TGW' so I've switched to that Game while this Commander problem is being resolved, not too long I hope GoA in truth is a bit dated and clunky but I like its intricacy and genuine board game feel and it has stacking! Not to be critical of CTHW though, a much more up to date game with counters that you can drag and I like the reports and displays but at the moment At the moment with CTHW I feel is though I'm struggling under a disadvantage against these enemy commanders with their enhanced combat weightings.

Once you get the feel of CTGW, it's very beatable every time long before 1918, either side played. A blend of GOA and CTGW would be a nice fit IMO. I think about the GOA a lot of times while playing CTGW. It's easy to look backwards, however, there should be improvements to make CTGW the game to look forward to.
