Does planes under maintenance or damaged ones are visible for enemy in base.
From two turns i have 9/10 DL on Wotje and i don`t saw planes icon on map.
Last turn i bombard base damaging/destroying couple planes on ground. after raid DL still 9/10 and again i don`t see plane icon in base

EDIT:
I ask also what about reserve planes?

PS. I was not sure is this WAD or bug so i post it in tech forum.

Maybe seaplanes?  No airfield needed to operate.

Wotje is lvl 4 AF.
AF have some damage but allies were able to send CAP in air few turns earlier. I looks that my opponent abandon base but left behind damaged planes. Strange is that there are planes on field but because they are damaged my reckon not showing map icon so field looks like empty. Pop-up window also not showing any planes on field. Map icon showing only presence of LCU.

Last turn bombardment. As You can see there are planes on field

Morning Air attack on Wotje , at 135,115

Weather in hex: Clear sky

Raid detected at 38 NM, estimated altitude 16,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 11 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M5 Zero x 9
Ki-49-IIa Helen x 47

Allied aircraft
no flights

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-49-IIa Helen: 5 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Kittyhawk I: 9 damaged
Kittyhawk I: 1 destroyed on ground
P-39D Airacobra: 5 damaged
P-40K Warhawk: 3 damaged
FM-1 Wildcat: 7 damaged

Airbase hits 4
Runway hits 27

AFAIK all planes present at the base are liable to be seen. Even with the best detection levels FOW is heavy.

Could those be remnants of evacuated groups? (like whole group flew out, but damaged planes left behind)

Seems far too many plane types to me, to be coincidence.

I am 99% sure that those planes where remnants of evacuated groups. To be sure I will need to have confirmation from Docup.
I was sweeping base with Georges for two days. Shotting down many allied planes. Third day AF icon disappear, i bomb filed and find planes on ground.

It looks that game is not showing AF icon if only planes on field are damaged planes from evacuated groups

As witpqs says, Recon isnt perfect.

Plus, as you say, maybe damaged planes dont show.

They were remnants of evacuated squadrons. Most are gone now.

There is possibility, that game only check for parent airgroups, in searching if airfield have planes.

What will happen, when you hover where airfield icon should be? There is sometimes a glitch, when you hover over enemy LCU stack, that tooltip actually shows, that there are some units, but you see no icon (that happens mostly, when there is only one enemy LCU, and low detection)
