This is an AAR of the third game, Ernieschwitz mentioned in his post in War Room (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3383298)

Sovjets: Ernieschwitz
USA and China: Ironduke 1955
We are in Dec. 1939 now. Here is a short review of the first two years of GD1938 (hope I remember it all correctly).
Cannt tell about the victory conditions of any nation. Don’t know the ones of Germany and Italy. Have chosen random conditions for France, but don’t know where I can see what AI had chosen. Have forgotten what victory conditions I have chosen for Britain. Tom might know what China should achieve, but has forgotten the conditions chosen for USA.
All the mess was caused by Axis (Germany and Italy) as they attacked Poland. SU wanted to get its share and joined the war. As protectors of Poland France and Britain got involved. After the loss of Poland Western Allies and SU negotiated for peace. SU increased its zone of influence on the Balkan, as did Axis, while Western Allies did not try to get any influence there.
Axis now turned towards Low Countries, Belgium and France. Belgium and main part of Low Countries were overrun quickly. The remainings of the Low Countries´army holds Amsterdam for months now.
As German forces crossed the border to France (coming from Belgium, Maginot Line is in good shape and was hardly attacked), they were stopped by a strong French defence line. No units had been evacuated to Britain, except of few air crafts and a part of the navy. Lots of supply had been sent to France, so the armies could be supplied well. The navy, that used a lot of supply, was under British command or supplied by the French colonies in Far East.
British forces supported France by massive air attacks. RAF is strong enough to give the Luftwaffe a beating when it shows up in northern France. RAF even defeated a German corps and forced it to retreat. And RAF is bombing the German forces at Amsterdam again and again. So Germans are not able to take Amsterdam. But as both Luftwaffe and RAF are strong, neither Germany nor Britain dare to send bombers deep into enemy territory.
France has build up a strong air force too. Backbone is the fighter Dewoitine D520, that is capable to stand dog fights against the German Bf 109. German Luftwaffe suffered heavy losses when trying to bomb French defence lines. So there is a stalemate at the French-Belgium border.
In the south the Italiens managed to advance along the Med Sea coast til they were stopped by French forces. No French city has fallen so far. There is a stalemate too. As Italy has got influence on Portugal and Spain, Britain and France started a combined attack on these countries. Portugal is in hands of the Brits, the south of Spain too. French forces are standing at the outskirts of Barcelona.
An attempt of Italien forces in North Africa to attack the French colonies failed. The Italiens were beaten and had to retreat. But Italien navy was successful in attacks on French navy. Most of the French Med Sea fleet was sunk. Meanwhile the Italiens have retreated and hide somewhere. Royal Navy is waiting to give them a beating!
After Turkey fell to the Sovjets, the Brits got aware that Persia might be the last country, SU has to take. As Britain could not DoW on Persia, a diplomatic offensive was started. At same time French and British forces attacked Turkey in near East. Greece became ally of France and French forces marched along the coast towards Romania, supported by Royal Navy.
Turks and SU forces proved to be very strong. Hardly any territory in Near East was won and it was lost quickly again. However, British cavalry passed the eastern parts of Turkey and appeared close to Baku. Baku was bombed by RAF and suffered heavy damage. British Whitley bombers, that had been send from Britain to Mid East, proved their abilities when flying deep into enemy territory.
Now Persia has joined the Commonwealth. Britain has stopped its aggression against SU. RAF and Royal Navy have already started attacks on Italien bases in North Africa. Axis is regarded as to be the main enemy at the moment.
In Scandinavia Norway has become and ally of France, while Sweden and Finland joined the British alliance. Germany has taken Denmark and western parts of Sweden. They are standing at Oslo now. The city might fall soon. Finland had been attacked by the Sovjets. They stand at the outskirts of Helsinky.
In North Sea and Atlantic Western Allies can operate as they like. After a short naval war, Germany had to call back its subs (or lost them!). Shipyards at Scotland and Canada build lots of destroyers, while RAF has a large amount of naval patrol available. Supply can pass the Atlantic without any interception of German subs.
USA is still not at war. They are below 20 percent. So in Far East only China and Japan are at war.
