I was out geocaching in the Wellington State Forest today (Western Australia) and found this. Is this what I think it is? If it is- and given the high level of knowledge exhibited by our esteemed forumites- what model grenade is it from? Note if it is a grenade firing mechanism it is likely to be practice item as I couldn't see the army traipsing around with live ones during training. (There were a number of WWII training camps in the Wellington State Forest)

Hey guys- the boys on the geocaching site have beaten you too the punch- apparently it's the top off a smoke grenade- and I did find a very rusted circle of metal with a hole in it that may have been the top of the grenade next to the mechanism. What say you gents?
