Here's the people I'll get in turn 11. Not enough but it'll have to do. Some of them aren't going to be combat ready and will need to rest
for a day or so. Well, actually I guess the turns are 1/2 weeks. So it'll need about a week or so to refit and replenish and train etc.

Here's the condition of the aircraft. I put all the long range airplanes ( IL-4's ) into Interdiction missions and what-do-you-know they are
all in reorg this turn. I'm shocked. So I guess I can't do that with all of them all the time anymore. I must say that John is doing a really
good job w/ his bombers. Even though he doesn't have any strategic bombers he's using his Medium bombers pretty admire-ably.
He's doing pre-combat air strikes to soften up the arty and get them to unentrench etc. I like that.

The more anal retentive of my readers will have noticed that there's a squadron that has a range of 61 but which is on Air Supremacy
missions. So it appears that I'm setting a bomber squadron to do air combat. But if you look at the actual unit you see that most of the
equipment is fighters with only a token appearance from the different kinds of bombers. So I'm hoping that the Bombers will sit out all the
furballs that happen. Otherwise I'm going to lose some bombers for no good reason.

Hey.......I just had a good idea. Why don't I park my combat support squadrons so that they cover a sizeable portion of the front lines but
don't extend all that much into the German lines so that they have less chance of getting shot down. Anyway, that's the theory. I'm
trying to tune the range arcs of the squadrons so that they look like this one:

Some of my squadrons are equiped w/ the I-15 fighter. This is a biplane and is probably the worst fighter I have. But I'm using them at
the front. I try to park these squadrons where their range arc is over the Russian stuff only so that they are being used defensively only.
I don't want to just get them shot down for no good reason but I also need some defenders in the field so this is the compromise.

Here's a close up of the south end of the Stalin Line. John is in mop up operations in parts and in attack mode in parts. He's multi-
tasking on steroids. I'm using the river as a defensive barrier but I know the river crossing guards aren't going to hold back anything
major so I still need more people in this area.

Here's a view of Nikolaev, John's captured port. He's shipped some Panzers into this area so I've adopted a modified checkerboard
defense. It's mostly to slow him down, not to contain him. Because I don't know which direction he's going to send his armour columns.
Plus I don't have enough people in the area to build a proper front line yet. But I've been railing people into this area and pretty soon I'll
have a proper front line built somewhere. Then John will breech it.

Here's a close up of the Leningrad area now. Since all the other avenues of attack are the equivalent of frontal attacks I'm thinking that
John may be tempted to come across the river. He's got some engineers and it's possible.......I don't know where his engineers are at
the moment. D'oh.

Here's the Soviet stuff still at Riga. It looks like John is about to have Riga all to himself here shortly. All that Soviet equipment looks to
be on it's last legs.

Have I posted the Soviet losses lately? Here's some of the Soviet losses as of T10. I'm losing planes faster than I'm building them. But
on the other hand in the Rifle Squads row the on-hand and assigned numbers are both climbing pretty fast. I'm impressed.

I tried a bridge attack at Bucharest but John had about 100 fighters there and I lost a slew of bombers again. I'm going to have to quit
bombing bridges I guess.

He did WHAT??? ROFLMFAO

You need to just run your army back to about twenty hexes of Moscow and wait for him. If that's how it is why bother with defensive lines? Luga River line to Valday Hills to Rhzev to Bryansk to the Dnepr. Rest your guys, gather reinforcements, save your artillery and build your airforce. Might as well since all sorts of very weird stuff is possible with this one. LOL.

Oh wait, you probably can't play with ignore losses with 3.4 can you? Wow. Without that the Reds are fairly screwed. Probably should have played with a version before 3.4.

Fight to the bloody end.

That defensive line you described is approximately what I'm attempting. And I'm looking to defend forward this time. Last game against
a different opponent I tried the run-for-the-hills defense and it didn't work all that well. So this time I'm pushing the defense forward and
it's working okay so far. I had enough forces on hand to clog the exits from John's captured port so that he didn't get expanded all that
much so far.

Yeah, we're using the ignore losses setting as is. It's helping me on defense in the early game and it will help John in the late game
phase. So we thought we'd play in spite of it.

Okay.....so it's Wed. 08:24 and I've received some moves from John and watched the replay etc. This is the Leningrad area. The Finns
are continuing to clear the terrain to the north of Leningrad and it's slow going. I'm still not sure where John's Panzers are right now but
I'm pretty sure he's using them to grab Leningrad somehow.

Here's the Smolensk area now. John is still working his way through my light screen and hasn't run his units up against my front lines
yet. I'm beginning to think he's going to go around the strongest part of my lines if he can. And there's plenty of places to go around.

Here's the Kiev area now. John is continuing to invest the Stalin Line and he's working his way SE along the river to probe the river
crossings and he's trying to find my weak spots.

Here's the Odessa area and in a surprise move John forced my defenders back and took the port of C-town on the coast NW of
Sevastapol. I'm thinking I might be able to contain it for a little while and maybe even force John to withdraw from there maybe. I've got
enough units present to put up a fight at least.

Here's a close up of C-town now. It appears that John has shipped in some tanks and if he's done that he's serious about staying there
because I don't think he would risk his tanks unless he was planning on expanding his bridgehead and staying a while. I expect some
more shipments in future turns.

The Odessa area is really confused. The city itself is cut off from the outside world except for the port(s) and I'm thinking it can hold out
for about a week or so ( two turns ) before I may need to evacuate the wounded.

This is the Pskov area. John is probably thinking he can just roll past my defenders in the places where I don't have very many units yet.
What he probably doesn't know is that I've railed in some defenders to build a front line here. This picture is the beginning
of T11 and I haven't moved anything yet so I'm thinking I need to form a line along the rivers in this area to block John from traversing
through here. This is one of the major avenues to get to Leningrad and John may want it pretty badly. We'll see. I only gave a light
screen up there now so this new line may be what's needed here now.

This is the Mogilev area, just south of Orsha and the solid front lines I've built. I was relying on the river to be a defense but as you can
see John's units just lept across the river and have surrounded my defenders. I thought they would hold out longer than that but I guess
that as long as they are there they will hamper the Axis units in their passage through there. So there's some good coming from the
situation still.

Looking good sofar, but we're reading Larry's AAR mostly so we don't really know what John's up to. He has proven to be a skillful player so far.
Personally I hope he's gonna kick some Fulkerson behind here hehe

Yeah, I wish John would post more, hint, hint. I don't know about you guys but I like pictures that have some verbage w/ it to explain
what the picture is showing......like a comic book kind of thing. Because one picture can tell many many words worth of info.

I agree. I'm impressed. I wasn't expecting this explosive display of gaming skill. I hope he keeps up the good work. My play style was
getting stale and I need a good workout.

Have I posted a picture of the south end of the Stalin Line yet? A close up? Here's what the south end of the Stalin Line looks like now.
It's been surrounded and John has been hammering on them and several of these clusters has already been disappeared. They aren't
going to hold out for much longer. I'm just guessing here.
