Rik

You have assured us that we are going to see this game released to the public *this* year. Meaning 2013. So, will you provide us with a definite month in the year of 2013 in which the game, "Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of Stalingrad", for the PC, will be released to the public? Will you provide us with this date within the next two weeks?

Ummm...wait a minute. Possible answers:

1. The "E" on my keyboard is broken.

2. I was drunk when I posted.

3. Erik and I go back a long way, and I call him Rik for short.

Actual answer: Rik Falch, the controversial gentleman that is (supposedly) going to publish the new version of Avalon Hill's long OOP wargame "Up Front", was on my mind. Those who have been following that saga will understand why my brain temporarily shorted out.

Anyway, that's two mistakes in two post for me. One more mistake and I'll change my medication. (-:

Mike

Have you been following what's going on with the new "Up Front"? I hope they try to make the armor rules a little more user friendly. Every time I play the game I have to read them all over again. I really wouldn't mind if they took out some of the unnecessary chrome.

Nope. No game. When asked if we'd see the game published by Christmas Erik answered "yep", but we can't even get anyone to give us a target *month*, and that's not very encouraging.

Ed,
I have been following the "New" Up Front...If anything...they have made it abit MORE complicated...sadly they are changing the relative range around, they are adding more terrain stuff, men, equipment...yada yada yada...more complex...lol. Wish they would have just left it alone and just remanufactured the damn game...
Oh well...with all the legal **** that has been going on...It probably wont get published anyway.
I think looking up stuff here an there is normal...just don't play enough, and you get into those situations where you just have to look at rules to get right/clarify something.
I like some of the more normal scenarios...or, some homemade ones...have been playing a lot of Campaign stuff with friend over Vassal...
As far as THIS game...who knows...they just don't keep people informed good enough. Not really how they should run things...But, that's just the way it is....

Have you heard something? So far Erik has said "yep" to being released by Christmas. I'm just trying to get him to commit to a month.

Einstein said that "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for a different result." I suppose that the statement could apply to us asking the same question over and over again and expecting a different answer. I guess we're just a crazy group. LOL

This game is at the top of my must-have list, so I was a little disappointed it didn't make the release date list even though three of the games listed are also must-haves.

I'm not sure what exactly draws me to this game so much, but I think it's the SL style graphics, and it's scale is one I'm very interested in playing.

Yep that is part of what got me in. What kept me was the neat idea of combat factors instead of odds, alternating sequence of play within a turn, spotting, and the list goes on. It is just a neat system and a hoot to play.

Hi everyone,

You'll note that when we announced our schedule for the 4th quarter, we left some room open in late November and early December. Normally this is reserved for earlier scheduled releases that are delayed, but if those release slots remain open, we can also add in additional releases. The plan was to try to get Lock 'n Load into one of those last two release slots. Unfortunately, the bad news is that it looks like we'll need them for some earlier releases. The good news is that Lock 'n Load looks like it will be very close to release status sometime before Christmas, so we can firmly set a January release date for it at this point. We're going to pick an exact date in January over the next few weeks and you'll see some promotion starting on Lock 'n Load before January, increasing as we get closer to the release date.

Apologies for one more delay, but the game is in good shape and this should be the last delay. We plan to have this be our featured release to start 2014 and I can say that with very high confidence.

Regards,

- Erik

Eric said January 2014, not this year. And i'm *very* guardedly optimistic about that release date.

I don't think either side is going to "blink", so it looks like we're going to default. The Stock market hates this. I think we're going to get screwed in more ways than one. I believe that our Republican representatives are right to try to get our debt down, but I don't think that Obama will ever negotiate on that or anything that in any way undermines Obamacare. Obamacare is his baby and he's going to protect it no matter what.
