I have played Dak before and he recently grabbed a game on put on the server that I put up after the latest patch.

Latest test patch
No random weather
Sudden death

Mainly playing this to see what the Soviets look like under new Morale rules after latest patch.

My goal is to be in Berlin by Xmas 1944 just in case Patton gets loose early in France.

He had a good turn one against my airforce. he didn't get many of the big bombers however.

He made a mistake in the north. I was able to rail in an infantry division and move a pocketed unit and break his ring. This should cost him a turn on the way to Leningrad.

Center turn one end. Pockets exploded out flipping as many hexes as possible.

South turn one end. He didn't make a Lvov pocket. As many hexes as possible were flipped by the screen forces.

Little trick I use setting up armies early. Disband certain corp HQs to move the SUs where you need them. This helps set up armies early in important areas like Pskov. Gets some manpower in the pool early as well.

Landbridge 16th army. Some of the southern boys came north. Tolbukin in the house replacements on.

All the bombers were sent to reserve. Fighters are dispersed close to the front to get a few Ju-52s hopefully.

Intercept at 200%.

Zhukov takes over Stavka.

I have to say that not making some kind of Lvov pocket looks like naivety. The Axis have an almost impossible task as it is without adding two more armies to the Soviet OOB.Your Stalin line defense may even stop him dead for a few weeks.

How he tackles the army of the Berezina would prove if he is really good or just cocky.

so far Ketza punished him for not smashing the Lida grouping or securing a crosing at Jekapils.

Turn 2 end north. Starting to set up MLR. He seems to be going the tough route to Leningrad.

Close up of the lines. CVs on landbridge are building nicely. Almost every Parachute brigade is in the swamps.

South 2 end. MLR along river being formed. Main line is just out of reach of a big push but close enough so he doesn't run amuck.

The route before Vitebsk is gonna be tough for him. By paras are dug in tighter then ticks he wont be blowing through here on the way to an easy victory. These puppies don't rout!

3 end center. Panzers are pushing south of Mogilev. Soviets react by flipping all the hexes possible.

3 end center 2. He must have read too many AARs showing success skirting north of the landbridge through the swamps.

He makes a big move in the south heading towards Odessa. I leave a checkerboard for him in case he turns towards Kiev.

"No Lvow pocket means an instant loss?

Hmmmm"

The operational tempo, not the pocket...means eventual loss.

Yes as always things snowball, no Lvov pocket means insta loss you already know this

It is not that I am not aware I just find it strange that so many people rant about the Lvov pocket yet say if a Lvow pocket isn't done the Axis have already lost.

Hmmmmm?

I for one have no problem with a Lvov pocket. Maybe this AAR will shed some light on what can be done without it happening to a Soviet player. I do think Dak41s tempo is a bit off so as an example it may be moot.

It's because they're not the same people.

The best way to show what can be done without the Lvov pocket is to do it yourself.Pick a decent opponent though.
Logic tells me that it must be a bad idea.If SW and Southern front were forced to stay in the South, that would be a different matter, but because the Soviet player is free to move units wherever he likes then 2nd pz army will find a massive force in it's path when it gets to where it's going.
It would be interesting to see what happens.Maybe the added momentum in the center would give you compensation?I doubt it though.

Very true, its basicly an insta win for SHC without it and yes the same people that bitch about it know that it is an insta win.

Its basicly like talking to the wall as I have found with so many things the last 2 yrs.

There is no ammo bug
There is no armaments bug
There is nothing wrong when you have 1.2 million men in pool and 250,000 arm pts in pool
There is nothing wrong with how NM is working.
ect ect ect ect ect ect ect

but they all have been addressed and fixed have they not.

Simply disagreeing to disagree I fully agree MT is a perfect epitome of a candle in the win.

While I was called wrong and allot worst by most everyone including yourself, I was proven right.
