I've played TOAW on and off for years and wanted to try out the Vietnam scenario. I just tried to load the game and noticed my disk has been damaged...not sure why but it has some really kool color splotches on the business side of the disk (sun? chemical? old age? aliens?).

I still have the serial number and so forth.

Is there a place from which I can download the game and then add to it my serial number???

...or some other means to get the game up and running??

Anyway...thanks in advance for any help.

Okay, I think I have it figured out. I just found a download link for what appears to be the latest version. It accepted my serial number, it seems.

If I can't get the game going for some reason, I'll come back.

All rightie, I think I got the game downloaded and I have my serial number entered, but I still have a problem.

When I press the desktop icon, my monitor flashes/darkens for a moment as if it's going to load, but then the desktop returns almost immediately without the game loading.

I'm looking around for a solution, haven't found one yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Maybe the patch wasn't a full version of the game?

I'll look into that.

You should have 2 downloads. TOAW 3 vanilla and the 3.4 patch. The 3.4 patch isn't a full version of the game.

If you have downloaded and installed correctly: You do not need the start menu, you can start the game directly by doubleclicking opart3.exe and/or creating a shortcut on the desktop.
If it doesn't run, try to use XP compatibility mode if you have Win7 or 8. You may want to use compatibility mode also for the game menue.

Thanks guys. Yes, I downloaded only the patch.

I still need to figure out how to download the vanilla game.

I'm still working on it.

Josant: I received your PM. Thanks. I'll try to figure that out.

Okay, I just now registered the game. LoL. I don't have it downloaded yet. But at least it looks like I own it now. :)
