Damn, I try and concentrate on my own war for five minutes and you take the Kymco factory in Taiwan. Perhaps M&M could get me a sweet deal on a BMW parallel twin? Water cooled of course.

I do confess to an irrational hatred of the AMT...no..wait..it IS rational.

I'm not sure who hates it more -- those who have to pay it, or those of us who have to compute it and explain it to the first group!

Ryukyus:

4/19th Army is loaded on a Kyushu Cargo class xAK moving to Daito Shoto...oops, if there is an Army HQ on Daito Shoto it looks like we won't be landing there.
3/8th Area Army is loaded on xAK Kinjosan Maru moving to Daito Shoto Another Army HQ on this little atoll??? Doesn't make any sense.

Pretend neither of us have read any threads in 'The War Room' or copied other players tactics...

The inscrutable WJD commanders are using FOW (the concept - not me) to deceive you - they are probably using Daito Shoto as a way point for those transport TFs before heading to the real destination. As you say there is no reason to put 2 HQs on an atoll leaving no room for combat troops.
Now you could really screw with their nefarious plans by landing and capturing that atoll to throw their convoy system into disarray

Hory crap! That-ah exceedingry crevah and inscrutabah at same time. Japan-mens find out where going before reave port. They say to comfort womans where going during pirrow tahk. Comfort womans hate Japan-mens so want-ah ship to sink so comfort-womans say to Portuguese missionary when priest come to give...ah...what-ah word...ah, yes, absorution, that-ah it....so missionary priest find out where Japan-mens going.

Then missionary say to Bishop of Manira where Japan-mens going. I not-ah exacatary work out how this part works. Bishop of Manira rike Protestant and Cathoric Irish whiskey so Bishop work for Miro. Miro repackages and "markets" information to Arries and Arries rearry happy.

Onry probrem is Japan-mens change where going when reave port. HAHAHA!

Oh yes, he was an epically prodigious upper lip sweat producer. The fact that he had sweat balls the size of Lake Erie during the televised Nixon-Kennedy debate is often cited as a reason for Kennedy's victory.

Personally, I suspect it was Kennedy's confidence, humor, wit and the fact that his wife was way better looking that did it.

By ra way, I think I was alive but do not remember the Kennedy-Nixon debates.

I watched the replay. As usual, it ticked me off. USS Richmond and her 3 DD's were 40 miles from Horycrappo-jima chasing a sub contact when the WJD DD's were shooting up our LCM's.

Here is another problem. The DD's will expend their main gun ammo during air attacks so, after a day on station at Horycrappo-jima, they are no good for night defense and have to go back to Altimonan to rearm. The LST at Horycrappo-jima with 650 SeaBees was undiscovered. We just need some undisrupted engineers and 1000 supply and we can get to a level 1 strip. This is proving to be a costly goal.

Lots of red splotches spotted in the East China Sea. Probably, Kirishima is coming back.

We need to get an AD up to Batan Is, which is nearly at its sinking point with troops.

I decided to send USS Barnes, which had just reached Sydney and USS Maryland, which was West of Fiji back to Hawaii to help with the Kurile/Sakhalin attack.

That makes the major naval assets now

Essex
3 x CVE
Maryland for bombardment duties
Indiana

Not very intimidating but I expect Kirishima, Kongo, Soryu and the CVL will be tasked with defending Okinawa.

Well, they were attacked first and I think it made them mad.

Pretend I didn't read the manual. Does the game engine "penalize" the forward movement of a SCTF when they encounter and are attacked by an enemy sub? It sure seems to.

I believe the rationale is that they are using up OPs points prosecuting the sub encounter.

I think it's possible that SCTFs or other TFs that dilly-dally around with I-boats 'use up' some of their movemement turns.

And a perfectly reasonable rationale that would be. It makes real world sense. It seems, empirically, to happen in the game but I wasn't sure if it was one my imagined mythologies of AE or was really implemented.

Read "Paddywhacked" for a better idea of what the Kennedy's really were like. The Media just liked them better. Camelot my big foot.

Well, you have a good looking, young, trust fund guy who has been told he was a master of the universe since he was 3....vs.....this sweaty, floppy-necked ex Quaker who wore white socks and wing tips and bermuda shorts when he walked on the beach and who was really, really good friends with Bebe Rebozo, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Kennedy used to have interns brought to him while he was swimming in the WH indoor pool. Not much like Camelot as far as we know. More like Merovich riding around the Frankish villages and picking out the good-looking virgins.
