Greetings everyone.

Just thought I would start up a forum thread for my latest DW:S gameplay video series.

We're back again! This time we enable all the story lines and tone down the pirates. The series so far (I'm 22 episodes into recording ATM) has been quite interesting and has provided a few classic moments. I hope you enjoy!

***SPOILER ALERT!!*** ALL the Distant Worlds Story Lines have been enabled for this series. If you wish to discover and play through the story lines yourself, you may want to skip this series.

Pirates: Very Few - Strength: Very Weak (Average Proximity - No Respawn)
Colony Prevalence: Abundant
Independent Alien Life: Teaming
Colonization Range: 0.50 Sectors
Race: Random (Zenox)
Empires at Game Start: 10 (Including myself)
Victory Conditions set at: 33%/33%/33% with overall threshold @ 90% (30 year start)
Tech Trading allowed

Hi Larry. I just wanted to thank you for doing your Let's Play videos. When I bought DW:S a few months ago the first thing I did was watch your "Release day" play through and it helped me immensely.

Glad to hear that series helped. Although, that game didn't exactly go well for me.

This current series is much better in regard to... well... most things. It's a bit of a slower game to start but does get going a bit later in and covers a fair bit not looked at in my other series. Hope this one helps too! :)

I've been watching this non-stop for the last few days. Picked up a lot of useful tips that I didn't even know how to use or existed before. Like the expansion planner window stuff.. thanks so much.

I'm showcasing your Extended Mod again. I was hoping to play one of the extended races again but rolled the Zenox (random) for this game. At this point there are over 25 empires in my game so I've got some good variety going on there.

Welp! That's a wrap. Just posted the final episodes to YouTube this morning.

Some Stats:

Episodes: 50 (Including Into & Outro)
Viewing/Playing Time: 28 hours, 29 minutes, 38 seconds (Don't miss that 38 seconds! VERY Important! lol)
Raw File Size: 22.9GB
Upload Time: 150-200 Hours (Didn't really keep track - 150 is a very low estimate. Most likely 200+ hours) Side note: My ISP SUCKS!

Fun Factor: 100%

I will be back at some point for another play through but likely won't be for a month or two. Stay subbed for future postings.

Thanks to all who followed this series. Without you there wouldn't be much point in doing all this.

I quite like this let's play of the game so far. I'm only 12 parts in so I have a lot of catching up to do.

I do have a suggestion however.

What if you did The Star Trek mod and played as the Federation? Because, watching your let's plays I'm getting little notes on your strategy. Sometime after the start, you conquer a lot of Independent Colonies in order to grow your empire.

However if you played as The Federation and set a rule where you could not invade friendly Independent colonies, so for example an independant colony of Humans, it might force you to rethink your strategy and present some new challenges and interesting obstacles which you will have to overcome.

Still, this series is pretty good. Here's hoping I reach the end. :)

I'm trying to avoid doing multiple LP series with the same strategy, so your idea is a good one. Will consider something like this for the next round.

Just dropping a note to say thanks very much for your LP's. Given the mandated hour or so a night I have to sit with my wife while she watches rubbish TV

I'll be tuning in on my tablet and progressively making my way to this last series.
