1) Add ground units and put them in an out-of-the-way sanctuary (I used Hawaii in Raid on Kismayo).
2) Place RP Zones where you want those ground units to teleport when they enter play.
3) Make a trigger for what needs to happen for them to show up
4) Make an action to teleport them to the RP Zone you want
5) Create an Event using Trigger(3) and Action(4)

Got it. Follow the orders given. Each V-22 has to go to its' assigned LZ.

I did this by setting up ferry missions for each Osprey to the respective LZs. Is there any other way to land a plane, apart from ordering an RTB?

You can only land a/c on facilities capable of accepting them. There are LZs in the DB for this purpose.

Yes, there are other SOF in the DB. However other than perhaps a bit faster OODA and in some cases better sensors and/or weapons I don't think as units they're much different than regular infantry in the current implementation.

Ok cheers for that it would be nice if they had something to make them standout from normal troops.

Well, like I said the ground game is pretty rudimentary (at least when pitting ground unit against ground unit) at this point. There may well be an OODA advantage (not sure since that quality isn't in the DB listing). There are SF RECON patrols that, as I recall, are for all intents and purposes, invisible (great for FO/FACs).

So are SOF units able to 'laser designate' armaments onto target?

Yes, if they have line-of-sight to it.
