The database is missing quite a few things, not seen a mechanism to report this as yet. Some are just naming issues, but there are missing sensors, weapon load and vehicles crucial to the operation of SAM Batteries that are just not there. I have only looked as far as facilities are concerned, but there are some glaring omissions/mistakes.

Post the things you are missing up here. Devs have always said that they are open to adding more things to the Database. Units that are needed for new scenarios will get preferential treatment IIRC. Also, if you post something up try to add as much data as possible (Take a look at the database viewer in order to see what kind of information is needed) which will make work for the DB-Admins so much easier when adding stuff.

Will that need to be referenced so they can check the validity of the source?

If so here is how I could post it, just looking at SA-20 as an example (an absolute game changer in the wrong hands).

Wrong range - 200km is actually 108nm for 48N6E2 and the 48N6E goes about 150km or 82nm ish
12 TELS, not 6 or 8 or whatever for 48 RTF rounds, plus 1 set of reloads
30N6E2 is actually reported as Tombstone (not Flap Lid C)
64N6E2 is reported as Big Bird E (not Big Bird C)
It uses not only Clam Shell, but Cheese Board (96L6E) in the same way that SA-12 is shown with High Screen.

(Sourced from ausairpower.net and alamaz-antey.ru amongst others)

Should be in in the Algerian inventory

Should be in Greek inventory

The number of TELs deployed depends on a number of factors, incl operator (country), region/area of deployment, etc. 12x TEL is max, in practice it is 6 for Russia and 4 for China. This is confirmed by Google Earth observations.

If you have info on actual 12x-TEL deployments please post up and I'll add entries with 12x TELs as well.

Updated 30N6E. Could you post more info on 30N6E2 and 64N6E2. From the designation these look like export versions.

Do you have more info on 96L6E deploying with the SA-20 systems?

Satellite images from Algeria show 6x bunkers per site so probably 4x launchers and 2x radars?
http://defense-update.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/modified_sa3_print_web-1.jpg

Have gone with 4x launchers per site for Algeria for now:
Radar (Big Bird C [64N6]) -- Algeria (Air Force), 2009, SA-20
SAM Bn (SA-20b Gargoyle [S-300PMU-2]) -- Algeria (Air Force), 2009, 4x TEL, 8x Bn

Greek SA-20 is already in there as:
SAM Bn (SA-20a Gargoyle [S-300PM-1]) -- Greece (Air Force), 19XX, 6x TEL, 4x Bn

4 launchers wont give you a second salvo, minimum would be 6. Plus the 2 on site radars.

IMHO, there should be a Database sub forum. Open source data is constantly evolving and keeping accurate & up to date is going to be a spirited endeavor.

http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-S-300PMU2-Favorit.html

3/4 down the page - it seems to be all that's on offer now.

Also seems to be confirmed here http://www.enemyforces.net/missiles/s300pmu2.htm

Somewhere on one of my drives, I have the Russian MOD export catalogue for 2009/2010 - of interest to you if I can find it?

Please look here on GE 56 03.79N 37 30.01E

Clearly shows a Tombstone on a TET (prob 30 metre one) and 12 TELS! Deployed in groups around a bunker complex with a number of transloaders in the open.

About 200 metres to the right is a 96L6 also on a TET

All part of the Moscow SAM ring.

Can I have my 12 TEL SA-20B now please

GE shows large bunkers, 32m x 9.5m This is sufficient to accommodate 6 battery vehicles per bunker and there are 6 of these.
The are also 2 narrower bunkers also around 32m long and two large structures to the south of the complex in question.

Yes of course!

Have added the following:

SAM Bn (SA-21a Growler [S-400 Triumph]) -- Russia [1992-] (Air Force), 2008, 12x TEL
SAM Bn (SA-21a/b Growler [S-400 Triumph]) -- Russia [1992-] (Air Force), 2013, 12x TEL

Fair? Need more?

Hmmmmmm really unsure about this one. Are you able to dig up more info via the web or GE on this?

What would your educated guess be on the number of launchers? Pretty certain it would not be 12, and probably not 8 either?

6 TEL and 6 Transloaders

Gives you 24 ready missiles (2 full salvoes) and the chance to reload once.

This would fit in the footprint of that site with the Tombstone FCR and a Cheeseboard SSR - try as I might, I cannot find the Big Bird on GE...

Should have a Box Spring up Echelon - guess this is semantics as it only gets added as part of the description

Hi All,

Copying from the specific thread.

Italian light carrier C 551 Giuseppe Garibaldi: too many Aircraft slots (16 Hangar + 12 Open parking). In reality this very small (14kTon) vstol carrier can operate a MAXIMUM of around 16 aircrafts (standard wing of 8 AV8+ and 6 Helicopters)

Italian light carrier C550 Cavour: 1) not enought Aircraft slots (6 Hangar + 6 Open parking). this ship is twice the size of smaller C551 Garibaldi (27kTon vs. 14kTon) and in reality can operate around twice the air wing (20 to 30 aircrafts: 12 Hangar + 14 Open parking would make sense). ALSO the current version of the game does not allow for Aircraft ammunitions on this ship (maybe because it is recorded as a LHA ---> which is also wrong as it is the first italian ship to be optimised as a carrier).

Regards
Giovanni

anyway of getting photos of the platform/unit added to the database? The adverts of the game prior to release seemed to indicate there would be a photo(s) along with all the data. Data base is indeed very useful.
