I just got an error on trying to enter the game on my new laptop:
"There is an error with your serial number as entered. Please contact support@matrixgames.com for assistance. Error Code: -1073741819"

There should be no problem with the serials I double-checked them and I use the same ones on my main computer and my old laptop. Skimming the tech forum I found a suggestion to start the exe as Admin with Windows XP compatibility mode, and it works.

What I'm wondering is, did something go wrong with my install, or is the game having troubles with Windows 8? Is it likely to cause any problems?

Did you install the game fresh on your laptop or did you just copy the files over?

Also, did you run the installer as Administrator (were you logged in as Administrator) and did you turn off anti-virus/security software first?

The error is a symptom of the installer not being allowed to complete setup, either by Windows or third party software. DW works fine on our Windows 8 test system.
