I've encountered an issue with air to air combat where the units are not firing any of the AA missiles. The aircraft do close in to shoot guns with success.

For example if you load the Falklands Pincer scenario. Play Argentina, change the loadout for the A-4P and A-4Q to use AIM-9. Send them to AAW patrol north of the islands. They will visual encounter the Sea Harriers and get into a dogfight but will never use the AIM-9 missiles.

Not sure if this is because the A-4 doesn't have radar. I don't think they need radar to lock AIM-9s and shoot.

Have you tried manual allocation? If there's a reason they cannot fire, it should be listed.

Yup tried manual allocation, no go. I know they were in range because they would report visual contact 2mi then close to gun range and shoot down the Sea Harrier, with 20mm.

20+ Skyhawks with 40 AIM-9s and not a single one was launched. But there were many many gun shots.

Falklands pincer scenario?? I only see two missions in my list that concern argentina. sea of fire and maria&victoria. am I missing a mission?? thanks.

went and checked warfaresims.com and their list of scenarios you can download. it appears I am missing 3 of those. comao training, Malvinas 1982, and op linkod timog. I thought all of those scenarios were added to the game in one of the updates? will download those 3 myself.

yeah downloaded that pack and got em. you all added most of em to the standalone list not sure why 3 of em weren't but it has been rectified! thanks.

Tested again last night with the update installed. The A-4s loaded with AIM-9Bs actually shot 1 missile! Maybe after 50 2mm gunshots and then all of a sudden I see an AIM-9B hit a Sea Harrier. ROE setup as optimistic as well.

Interesting thing. The Mirage Dagger loaded up with Shafrir will launch all of their missiles no problem.

IIRC the Shafrir was a much better missile than the AIM-9B, with much more relaxed firing restrictions.
