Hello Everyone,

Seeing some interest here in PBEM games, I am reposting a message I put on the EIA yahoo group.

I wanted to lay out the ground rules for this game. As mentioned
previously, it will be a 1792 variant. For those unfamiliar with the
scenario from the General, the basics are laid out here
http://members.fortunecity.com/lobodeoro080888/eia/

Note: This does not include such goodies as Vendee revolts, the
Guillotine, indecisive naval actions, or the Bourbon restoration. If
we all have access to the rules from the general, my inclination is
to use them all. If not. Let us keep only one thing in mind, that is
that, although not spelled out in the page, France is not a dominant
power, so their morale is only 3.0 .

We will use cyberboard, with the scenario thoughtfully designed by
Ragnar Kempel and stored on the empiresinarms group at Yahoo .

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/empiresinarms/files/

If anyone has difficulty in locating either the rules of the
Cyberboard files, please let me know.

I intend to Gamemaster by committee, with a `congress of Europe' to
resolve any rules disputes. I do not wish to impose my views of rules
interpretations upon others, as I am well aware that there are many
with an equal or superior knowledge of the game. All I ask is that,
even if you are * right * about an issue, that you acknowledge that
decisions will be made in this matter, if it comes down to an
otherwise irresolvable issue.

We will use dice@pbm.com for die rolling. I do not wish there to be
any doubt about the veracity of rolls and the die server has the
advantage of sending out results to any number of addresses.

I am open to suggestion as to how to handle corps strengths. A good
deal of the game hinges upon uncertainty there, but I do not see how
that is practical in this format without a third party being kept
aware. Maybe we can go on the honor system until combat occurs?

For pacing, I intend to move at a phase per week [Diplomatic/naval
and Land] so that we complete a month every two weeks. For a
centralized posting board, I will create a yahoogroup.

We are taking players, so if you are interested, please contact me
