Baloogan, just a quick note.
Would you still be able to post a playlist
of your background tunes? The Oct. 5 set
was particularly nice.

I'm just a trance/ambient freak.
I bought both Ludique albums based on your
single recommentations.

Hi Java!

I'm glad to be promoting Ludique, in fact I heard of Ludique from another videogame streamer!

The playlist (as of last week) is at http://baloogancampaign.com/stream/baloogan-playlist/

I've found trance/ambient to be a good mix with Command. The game is emotionally empty; which I think is thematically apt and I think its why ambient music goes so well with it. I think of this clip of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoVWedQOQl4 Patriot Games; I'm the guy sitting in a command center far away from the action.

Also in that YouTube you can really see how good of an actor Harrison Ford is. He really sells 'feeling great emotion though trying to hide it'.

Thanks, Baloogan!

I really appreciate the list.
I've see some more albums I've got to get.

As a way of saying thanks, I can tell you about the nice
ambient soundtrack to Portal 2. You can download the
3 albums from the Portal site at:

www dot thinkwithportals dot com slash music.php

The best part is that it is 100% free, and it is good!

Hi Baloogan,
have you updated your post at Subsim? There are some new posts in the Command thread over there by new players, and they may have missed your thread about Saturday live stream. Thought you might want to bring it up since it is late Friday.

I’m going to be live in about 20 hours from now!

I will focus on the scenario editor; essentially doing a tutorial for the editor. I'm going to be taking questions from the chat as well as creating a few simple scenarios, playable from either side.

Excellent though I have to the ones where you plonk units down in sand box then make a story up. The canal episode replayed inthe future. Out of interest are you going to go back to the Pakistan scenario?

Ignore this I read your email after I posted this. Look forward to your next episode.

I've gotten a few requests to go back to that one, so yes, I will be playing it during Episode 6!

The Editor tutorial will be about an hour to an hour and a half; I want to get that done first so its first out the door when I start making YouTube videos of the episode.

Hey you know me; I honestly can't fill 4-6 hours with an editor tutorial heh! Also I've received another request to return to Operation Lightning Strike here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMJjDCdhxV8

Editor Tutorial comes first though; I want to get that done because I think there really isn't enough info out there on the internet about the editor's more technical features. I'm not going into the XML platform editing though, that stuff is complicated!

5 hours till the stream!

Hi Baloogan,

thanks for session last, I enjoyed all of it. It did make obvious, that there is good reason for you to continue with the stream. Pretty soon, it'll be analogous to having a cup of tea\coffee in the morning.

Hi BKLANDIN, Thanks for tuning in!

I've also figured out why last night's stream wasn't working so well: the hard drive I stream to locally crashed! I also had my pagefile on that drive, which is why I was having so much computer trouble. I've been working on recovering Episode 6 from that drive all night; and I think I've been successful. If everything works I should have Episode 6 Part 1 up on YouTube at some point today!

Sorry to hear that. I've been waiting for you to uploade the episodes. I trust that you have a good handle on getting your stuff back, it is a lot of work, The problem for you will be due to the "overwritting" as you progressed through the stream last night. I use "Kernel for Windows Data Recovery" and "Recuva" for those types of problems.
But it takes a long time depending on hardware and deep scanning, then deciding how to proceed with the recovery. Good luck. It might not be too bad, but like I said the drive was still being used so stuff definately got overwritten. Damn.

I've got backups I've had disks fail so often at work that I now expect drives to fail.

I was trying to recover the disk last night as I slept but no dice (woke up to a bluescreen). Right now I'm downloading the records that twitch.tv keeps.

Good to hear. I have Acronis and it has saved me more than one. After a while, everyone learns the hard lessons of not backing up.

Baloogan, during the session, can you call out your keys, key combinations, right or left click methodology? It will help those of us, who have not advanced as far as you, and speed up our development. Thanks.

Sure will do!

Also an update on the backup: recovery successful! The most important thing to remember about computers is that sometimes they break and you need to prepare for that.

Agree. Or should I just say "01"? The back recovered is good news. I will be watching for those videos over this week. And thank you.

Hi Baloogan,
close to update time for the stream if you're still going to include other sites like Subsim. Promise I won't bug you about that(site notices) anymore, but 'm looking
forward to whatever you continue bring on the weekends.

Hey BKLANDIN,

Please promise you will keep reminding me of that . Its very easy for me to lose track of everything. This whole endeavor is a team effort!

This week's episode will feature Custom Overlays and a database image auto-updater program.

As soon as I get home from work I'll post everywhere.

Hey Wargamers!

Episode 7 will focus on how to use Command's Custom Overlay feature as well as an Image Database updater, which will make it easier to add new images to Command.

Please join us at 5:00 PM PDT at http://baloogancampaign.com

Cheers,
Baloogan
