Howdy all. I am trying to install TOAW on a new laptop, which is running Windows 8. I loaded the TOAW file folder from my old PC onto a flash drive and transferred the folder to the laptop but when I attempt to get the program to actually install, I get an Error 200. Tells me my registration number is causing a conflict. Can anyone tell me how to transfer the folder to my laptop and install it?

I'd be much obliged....

Sounds like you've run into the same problem as me when I copied my TOAW installation from one PC to another.

There's a hidden file call maga.mg that you'll also need to copy across.

If you aren't exposing files with the hidden attribute then you won't see it.

Hope this helps!

Thanks TrevB, I'll double check to make certain that file is there. With respect to the Matrix Support tickets, I can't enter text in the complaint description box either directly or cutting and pasting from word. Tried to submit a Word doc detailing my problems as an attachment and it wouldn't accept a .doc file. Good Lord this is frustrating....

Installs are often a pain. I don't know if its necessary, but it works for me to load each of these files in succession. The result being that it may take a few minutes, but everything works after. When you type in the serial number the first time, copy it because it will ask you for it each time. I've done it so often I've got them in a separate folder right on the desktop.

I need to move TOAW from one PC to another.

I have my serial number, my Matrix member password is OK and my game is registered.

The question is i can't find where to DL the necessary "initial" OperationalArtofWarIII-SetupRelease-DR file from Matrix.

The only file available i find on Matrix members club is the TOAW-Update-v340202.

Can someone guide me on this?

Thanks in advance

I just reinstalled TOAW after getting a new comp & had no problems - just downloaded & installed the 3.4 file from Matrix & then used the 3Bbxb (or whatever) exe.

Thanks. Problem is when i install TOAW 3.40202 alone i get a Error code: 200 (wrong serial number - which BTW isn't wrong ...)

I still "feel" i have to install previous OperationalArtofWarIII-SetupRelease-DR first as TOAW 3.40202 is "just" an upgrade.

I followed the instructions I had typed out (in the past) and now I can't figure it out, so maybe Matrix has changed something. If you want, I can zip up the folder I had pictured above and send it to you.

Edit : I meant that I couldn't figure out where to download the files. I had burned them to disc so I still have them.

I think 3.40202 is merely a patch. You have to have the original installation files too. I had a computer problem and lost my install copy. All I had to do was contact Matrix support. I included my serial number so they knew my request for a copy of the full install files was legit. They had me fixed up in a day or two.

Yes, v3.40202 is only a patch.

Matrix support provided me a dedicated link to DL the OperationalArtofWarIII-SetupRelease-DR and then i updated with v3.40202 plus 3Bbxb.
Works just fine.

Thanks all for helping.

Afternoon All.

I am re-installing the game after a few years off. The digital download from Matrix is showing 3.1 as the current version. After this, I should be able to install patch 3.2 and patch 3.4 and be up to date, correct?

Thanks,

-Vess
