I recent thought occurred to me regarding this plane. It seems it is CV capable AND an IJA plane.

Does it seem worth the effort to research this lil' gal so that I might be able to resize some of the smaller airgroups via carriers?

Would this army plane work the same way as IJN squadrons would in regards to resizing and HQ attachments being released?

Take a very good look at the stats of the Stella, and your questions will be answered. It's not a good aircraft.

Clearly this is an inferior plane. My fault for not being clear that this would be the ONLY the reason to research this plane.

P.S. Plane stats do not answer my questions but thanks for trying :)

No plane is bad for training, and the more you have the better.

It's not worth it. The Stella is not a combat aircraft. It's a radial-engine Fieseler Storch with a couple of teeny-tiny bombs on it. The Ka-1 is better than it, FCS!

Don't waste time researching it.

By the time it comes along, you're either comfortably on your way to winning on points, or squashed back so far into the Empire that land-based aircraft will be doing the job anyway. Don't bother.

Your last response was far more to the point Terminus. My curiousity asked the question, "Is the Stella worth devoting a 30 count r&d facility to to allow me to resize my army squadrons?" It seems no one really knows that answer but it did occur to me perhaps the arrival of the Stella is much too late to help my war efforts by allowing the larger squadrons.

It is an interesting idea.

A single R&D factory is going to advance it by about 2 months so I'm not sure that the timing is that worthwhile. (DBB-C, not sure about other scenarios) You get one group that is Stella equipped in July 1944 so I suggest not building them but using the planes from that group to do the resizing, if you feel it is worthwhile at that time.

If you have changed groups to 2E then you would need to spend PP to change back to 1E to do the resize and again to revert to 2E.

If you still have a carrier and have advanced the Ki-115a/b then you could use this in 1945 to resize the arriving Willow equipped units and equip them with 800kg bombs to create a very nasty kamikaze or anti-Soviet force.

Of course, you would need to have a CV in '45 ... very tricky to do as the allies generally want to be sure all of those types of ships are fish reefs.
