What language have you set Windows to use? There was a similar problem for someone who had Japanese set on his computer.

Japanese as right now used fonts when playing MWIF?
Or just installed fonts?

Best regards
(And congrats for having climbed Mount MWIF all those years!)

I know very little about this, but Erik said that double byte character fonts (like Japanese) can cause trouble in other games. That appears to be the case with MWIF. Can you switch to English when you play MWIF? That should solve the problem.

EDIT: Do you like the rerouted Yellow river in China? That is your doing if I remember correctly, as well as the Chinese unit writeups.

I play with Western fonts. But just started with setup. No problems.

Yeah I like it! But anyway helping with a few regional details is nothing. Compared to your work.

Best regards

If it's the same problem as shown in the first post, it has been stated that some language character sets cause this problem and one suggestion thusfar is to use the English setting for operating system language.

paulderynck Shannon,

Thanks for your help. I know we can switch OS as English to solve this problem. BUT as a China player and Fan this game, I more hope Developer can solve the problem base on WIF system. I waiting WIF become a PC version have loooooong time(over 7 years). I like it. Also I hope developer can pay attention to China and Japan and this kind of double byte character region. So please do something from WIF system. Thanks!

mattyb1972,

能在WIF分区看见国人真是高兴啊,不容易不容易,国内知道WIF的人太少了,交个朋友!

OK for those of us in the problem countries i.e China and Japan, the work around seems to be changing the non-uni code settings to an English speaking country, i changed mine to US,ive only just done this so im not sure what effect it has on other programes, im sure my wife will let me know as soon as she attempts to do something Chinese on the computer

You can fix this error as follow: Go to control panel-> Regional and language -> select tap: system managment -> change the non-unicode language to English (US). Then restart the computer.
It work for me as I use Traditional Chinese Win7. Hope this help

I wonder if those settings can be made user specific. Then you could switch users when playing and not upset the environment for other users.

Thanks, I know. But My point is: WIF developer should pay more attention to Chinese players or other Double-byte character players.

If Single-byte character palyers can play WIF needn't change or switch any OS setting. Why Double-byte guys need ?

It's not some technology or skills. It's a attitude when face your fans.
