Error DX Sound Support - 11/14/2013 4:14:44 AM

Status: offline 		When I hit the Play button, I receive the following error message "Warning - Cannot detect DX Sound support. Sound and music are now disabled." DX Dialog File attached.

First thing I see is the diagnostic file is a direct sound driver failure message. I would start with doing a directX install to see if that fixes the drive problem. Are you patched to 2.01? We had an issue where certain machines could not play the main theme do to codex issues and we remastered the track to a more generic bit rate. Let's start there and see if we can get you going.

Status: offline 		Followup. Per your posting in an earlier discussion about sound problems, I DLed the DirectX End-User Runtimes and successfully ran the DXSETUP.exe file. Still no joy, continue getting the error message.

Status: offline 		Second followup. Problem solved. Was with my machine and not with Flashpoint. My thanks to Capn Darwin for the troubleshooting and the encouragement.

Glad things are working out! Now back to hotfix a weird LOS glitch that has surfaced in 2.02.
