Thanks to the handy 'enter die roll manually' option Steve so thoughtfully put in, I can now roll real dice in a computer wargame and enter the results! No longer can I curse the RNG - now I have a real plastic/glass item to hurl in anger! What fun!

Does anybody else play this way? Just curious...

Steve

There are also apps for the iPhone which allow you to roll virtual dice of any kind/color, complete with dice sound effects. Kinda cool...

When playing ASL we use physical dice and tell results over Skype. But then you dont have to type every roll in.. which get cumbersome over time. PRNG are all very streaky and do a poor job delivering uniform distributions for short sequences, so that was the motivation there.

Dice camera seems doable, but unnecessary ;) Nice idea, though! Does it automatically recognize the roll result?

There were a couple of games that showed the rolling of dice. Just pure animation, but I always enjoyed it. The Locl n Load game in development has them going across the screen. Nice flair imo.

Never used the dice cam in Conflict of Heroes. I think it did register them if I recall correctly.
