Best I can tell, Elite units have no benefits on the attack/defend unless they are disor/out of supply or winter conditions (Soviet only). There's the jungle benefit too.

Am I correct that this is it?

I believe that elite units defend at 3 if they are disorganized and out of supply, where as a regular unit would defend only at 1. Neither would have any attack capability.

I am still learning the game so maybe an expert can chime in and confirm this.

Yea thanks and noticed that one. Just surprised I guess not to find any attack benefits (unless USSR in winter) for Elite's.

You're correct. White print "elite" units really have very little difference from regulars.

The 3-strength OOS-rule is a huge difference. Huge.

USSR elite units are considered winterized. Perhaps those from other countries too? - search for Snow units in RAC.

In some situations, mostly when invading islands.

A lot of the time though in a big land war, an OOS 3 strength unit is just as dead as an OOS 1 strength unit. To me, the difference is small enough that say, I wouldn't be willing to pay extra BP to make sure I got a white print guy as opposed to a black print one.

You'll also note that most elite units have higher combat values.

Don't overlook that 3 strength when disorganized and out of supply. This is critical in places like: Gibraltar, Malta, Truk, and Rabaul to name a few. Always defend those places with White Print (Elite) units. Any invasion becomes much harder.

The mountainous ones are even better. Even when out of supply two elite units and a division will defend at 14 when disorganized and out of supply. That can make invading much harder.
