ORIGINAL: RedCharlie65 Read reviews, engrossed in AARs in this forum and finally took the plunge and bought the game last week. I have been having some of the best war gaming time playing this little gem. Love the tempo of it. Love the fact I cannot micromanage the units but give orders and hope for the best. Maps are well done. Just all around good game and I'm an old HPS war gamer. We won't hold your HPS past against you. quote:
I hope you sell well because I'd love to see this expand already to include more Warsaw Pact and NATO units. More maps and if I dare say would love to see add-ons of the 1973 Arab-Israeli war, Russian-Georgian War 2008, Iran-Iraq War of the 1980s. The sky is the limit with this engine. Thank you for the fun gents! Having had something to do with the scenarios, there has been a lot, read that A LOT, of research going into areas like Soviets vs Afghan, Iran-Iraq, Arab Israeli Wars, Vietnam, Korea, Falklands...etc... What I'm finding is that what I thought would be good for an entire expansion, in some of these conflicts, will be good for a scenario or two in an expansion. Others of course will support entire modules and extra expansions. The game would have to sell well enough to convince Matrix that expansions are worth their time. I personally think they are. In fact, I believe in our game system so much I believe in giving out free content every time we make a public release of any kind. Whether that's a patch/update or a complete expansion. I missed one update where I went back and redid the entire range of scenarios so they would score better. (Plodder and I are still working on the British scenarios...hope to have those redone by Christmas.) I hopefully made up for the single miss by releasing a West German Campaign in time for you guys to play it during the Thanksgiving holiday. I don't see that happening again as there is plenty of new content about to become available. With another update due in December that means more free content for you guys then. Gee, there is another holiday in December. Maybe I should do another campaign for you guys for that holiday as well... We'll see how that works out for you guys. Good Hunting. MR
