I did a major resupply of CW convoys that had been depleted over the course of a year, and suddenly my convoys refuse to stay at sea. I have the option checked to sentry the convoys as I move them. I have also gone around putting all convoys on sentry and merging them. Even so, in every single "stay at sea" phase, the convoys are once again un-merged and not on sentry, forcing me to go over all my convoys and clicking them to tell them to stay at sea, and even so convoys that I have clicked on and merged again in the "stay at sea" phase are un-sentried, not merged and need to be returned to base in the "return to base step".

Am I doing something wrong? Is this a terribly irritating bug?

There is a check box in the Production Planning form for "returning all unused convoys to base". Perhaps you have that checked by accident?

I might well have, but the convoys were in use. My production noticeably dropped.

Can you send us a saved game with this problem; maybe from the Preliminary Production Planning phase (which is just before the Stay At Sea phases)? MadExcept@MatrixGames.com

I would advise you to restore the autosave from the stay at sea phase for the CW and restart from there. Look very good at the indicator on the convoy points. If it is yellow (or light green, I'm slightly colorblind, and I tend to see light green the same as yellow, sorry about that), the convoy is selected as returning to base. After clicking, it will stay at sea.

I sometimes have this problem with the US convoys to Japan or the German ones in the Baltic (and perhaps I've gotten used to this appearing, since I never thought about this as being a bug).

Anyway, I usually go through the whole stay at sea phase by going from sea area to sea area, checking ships and convoys using the available units buttons in the command form. If you use that button until you are back where you started, you can't miss any sea area and can check everything.

I had the same issue with the Japanese. It seemed to have to do with adding a couple captured convoys to the pipeline, though I did hit the unused stay at sea button once to try to figure out what it did. I recovered...

I'll send you the savefile, but I can't reproduce the error at the moment. When I test now, the convoys are mostly un-sentried, but when I sentry them, they stay at sea. Not sure what's going on.

Any you want to keep at sea should be sentried.

I've done some more testing, and it appears as it was me doing something wrong. I did have the option selected where unused convoys are returned to base. What I find strange is that it de-sentried all convoys in areas with unused convoys. Shouldn't it just be the unused ones?

I'll look at that code. It is from CWIF and so far I have left it untouched.
