The third War Of The Tiny Islands scenario is ready for release! Again, it took a long time since I had to work around the game engine a bit. Fair warning, this can be a long scenario... Like my first and second scenarios, this is different than what some folks have been posting. It's a fairly simple scenario from the gameplay point of view, but has lots and lots of documentation, messages, background and a few other bells and whistles. It's got a lot more story telling to it. Some folks might like it, for others, it might not be their cup of tea. Here's part of the Scenario Description: quote:
During October of 1970 the on again, off again war between the Peoples Republic of Palmyra Atoll (PRPA) and the Kingdom of Jarvis Island (KJI) was on again, but a stalemate of sorts had been reached. Tired of all the air attacks by both sides, the United Nations has stripped both sides of all their fixed and rotary winged aircraft. While this has defused the situation for the time being, tensions remain high. While the KJI has equipped themselves with a variety of surface ships, the PRPA seemed uninterested in obtaining a navy... until now. Undercover agents from the KJI had sent the startling news that the PRPA has negociated a deal with the Soviet Union to take over the old but refurbished battleship Sevastopol, renamed the PRPAS Comrade Pra. This ship, traveling without escorts, is on it's way to Palmyra Island. Should it arrive there, it will dramatically tip the balance of power in the region. The ship must be stopped at all costs. This scenario can only be played from the side of the Kingdom of Jarvis Island (KJI). It will last a maximum of six days, after which the United Nations will step in and force a cease fire on both sides, or until the Comrade Pra is sunk or reaches Palmyra Island. This scenario uses the database CWDB 400, released as part of Command Build 474, which is the current Command 1.02 release candidate. You must have this build or later for the scenario to work. The download includes several files as explained in the Read Me First file, which you should of course read first . This scenario requires CWDB 400 which came with Build 474, the 1.02 release candidate. You must have at least Build 474 installed. Also available are two custom overlays for the two tiny islands in question. The overlays are in a zip here. The download is from Dropbox and is about 30 MB. The custom overlays are NOT required to play the scenario. As I said, this scenario might not be for everyone, but I like it . Please post any problems you might have with it in this thread. Since this scenario doesn't "run on rails" it's possible to approach it a number of ways; let me know if you came across an interesting one.
