Is it possible to blow up a planet, with or without mods? If so, where should I be looking?

Hello Madcyborg.
Yes, search for debris fields that show up on the Galaxy Map while exploring. There are ships
called World Destroyers that can be found and repaired with a constructor ship. It has a very
powerful weapon called a Death Ray that pulverizes planets into asteroids. Depending on the
size of Galaxy map you play, there can be up to 3 World Destroyers that can be found. Beware that
the Shakturi has at least one also.

In addition, on occasion you can buy information from pirates on the whereabouts of debris fields.

I'm looking for it…! Thank you, this is one of those "highlight" items for me.

While repairing the planet destroyer, Protect your constructor with at least 2 warships. Others are also looking for them.
Cheers

You get the super laser or deathray as a reward for completing the original storyline by searching special locations.

Or maybe you get them when you get your first operational Devastation Moon. I'm not too sure.

Also beware. The Devastation Moon laser has an area effect.

Oh yeah. When I blew up my first planet, half my fleet went with it.
