I love the Tante Ju, South Africa actually bought and operated some as commercial airliners.

Ah, the deHavilland Dove. Many a trip between San Juan & C’sted c1964. I can’t remember whether the carrier was Virgin Island Airways or CaribAir.

In either case, each and every trip was memorable in some manner. Not usually in a good way. No matter what the weather, if and when you dared look out the window, water would be streaming horizontally by on the Plexiglas. Salt water.

Spanish air force operated them into the 60's. As a kid vacationing on the beach near Valencia in '68 I saw a trio fly over. As I remember, they were slow, very slow.

Same with me, except it was PrinAir and it was a de Havilland Heron (a stretched 4E Dove). Boy, oh boy! I got stories of Captain Gonzales (Gonzo) on the threshold at St Thomas. Gosh, I love those oldie planes; back when men were men and planes were planes. Good to know there's at least one old man out there who's also flown righteous in the Caribbean. Ciao. J

The Aussie version of the Dove was the Drover, but with a 3rd motor in the nose!

That one in Swiss markings has me stumped. I've never seen anything like it. Does anyone have a clue?

EDIT: After some googling, if I had to guess it's a heavily modified Pilatus P-2.

Cheers,
CC

You talking about the one below the Skyraider? if so that's a MS406 French built just before ww2.

The one w/ the triple fin tail is a post ww2 Nord IIRC of some kind forget name offhand
