Perhaps the Czech 152 mm houfnice vz.18/47. A modification of a German design, then captured and used by the Germans.

Yes, I do mean Human Resources. But then how many HR departments do you know of based in a fort?

That might make it the only honest HR department around.

Safer too. Then they could pass one of those annoying Family Medical Leave Act forms to you through a gun port or something and then....what are you going to do about it?

Actually the SU made his first pun today. "Do you know why those alpacas need all those guns? They're getting ready for the alpacalypse".

Alpacazombies are no laughing matter. Even a full-grown chupacabra would run from them.

Seems like a bit of a waste of real estate to me. Put in a condo complex with views of the harbor. Leave the "powder rooms" as powder rooms and maybe put some pool tables in one.

Then some filters and a 6M BTU pool heater and you could make a nice infinity pool out of the moat. Not sure what you do with the sub. Maybe the conning tower is the sales office.

JJ gets the jump on some of our unescorted bombers. 4 Liberators over Pegu and 3 B-25's over Taihoku.

Of course, we did sink a WJD DD with a PT boat so it's not all bad.

****Palace of the Sultan, Brunei*****

Sultan But the Japanese pay us in dollars?

Man in fine linen slacks: Those aren't real dollars, your Majesty. They are not backed by the Unites States treasury.
There is a very real risk they will soon be useful only as medium grade toilet paper.

Sultan What is toilet paper? <finance minister whispers in the Sultan's ear, who then makes a face indicating revulsion..after a pause> Who will we sell our oil to, then, Mr. Minderbinder?

Man in fine linen slacks: Your Majesty, I have a client who is willing to pay you in real US dollars to NOT sell your oil.

Sultan What do we DO with the oil?

Man in fine linen slacks: You leave it in the ground, your Majesty.

Sultan Western finances are very confusing Mr. Minderbinder.

Man in fine linen slacks: Indeed, you Majesty.

Sultan And what of the Japanese commandant of Brunei? He has men with guns. Will he not be angry?

Man in fine linen slacks: Not at all, your Majesty. It is merely a matter of the proper alignment of incentives.

Miyako-jima goes to level 3. We send in 42 TBF's to augment the 25 SBD's. That is about 2 carriers worth of bombers plus F4U's and F6F's.
Pretty formidable now. A CL/DD group will raid Naha tonight to see if the IJN DD's are still on station. B-17's at Batan Is and B-24's at Aparri (now level 6 are switching over to Naha as a target.

Karenko now level 4 with 64 dive bombers and F4U, F6F escorts. Just deadly.

Moving divisions around on Luzon to get them to the bigger ports to ease embarkation.

Admiral Lord SPrior has two division prepping for Moulmein to flank the WJD line near Rangoon.

Having trouble getting suppries to forward bases in the PI and Formosa/Ryukus. Started sending unescorted AK's up from Normantown which avoids the risk of the Torres Strait and shortens the route.

*******Strategic Bombing******

It won't be too long before we can put some Heavies on Miyako-jima or Karenko and hit Kyushu, but until then, where can the do the most benefit?

After the disaster at Brunei I doubt they will try getting more oil from Northwest Borneo.

Is there value in hitting the oil centers anyway? Points I imagine.

I'd "waste" Miri and Brunei's oil production-yes, you will get points for it (manual, page 231 and 264). Can you reach Palembang on the Southern side? I assume that Soerbaja is still out of range for you.

From Port Blair, can you reach Medan's oil production? It is unlikely to be well defended.

From Luzon, can you reach Hong Kong and / or Canton? From the islands north of Luzon, can you reach Shanghai?

Target recommendations for strategic bombing (in order):

1. Refineries
2. Oil centers
3. Heavy Industry
4. Aircraft engine factories
5. Aircraft factories
6. Armament factories
7. Vehicle factories
8. Resources
9. Light industry
10. Naval shipyards
11. Merchant shipyards
12. Manpower

When do the Arried Burry aerial mines become available?

3. Oil on Miri / Tarakan / Brunei

Canton easy reach from Northern Luzon. Palembang is 26 hexes from our westernmost bases at Jolo and Puerto Princessa..so, too far.

Palembang can be reached from Miri in Sarawak (19 hexes).

Yep, about what I was thinking. Miri refineries are already toast dating to its capture.

Balikpapan seems a good choice too with big refineries and oil fields.

Got an overlooked one for ya, Cap. Ledo-Chengtu, China is only 12 hexes distant. Even certain lime-enhanced airforces oughta be able to make the range to blow up the HI there.

Yes. Good choice. Should be easily reachable for the heavies from the Sulawese or maybe Jolo?

What's he got on Quinhon (VN)? A paradrop there may take some of the starch out of his sails.

Also, you own the Groot, doncha? Why not drop off a CB unit or two, a base force and a small defensive force there. Should be buildable to level 8 AF. That would put Palembang and Singapore in range in short order and sit astride any remnant communication with Saigon / CRB from the DEI.

So today I go in search of HR and find them in Fort Southwick. Now, I've been in a few HR departments but this was Alice in Wonderland stuff. I get to the front gate and there's a Centurion tank:

Not quite. From page 264:
Points will only be scored by the Allies for bombing industry in mainland Japan, and by the
Japanese for bombing industry in North America, Australia, and/or Hawaii.

Ah, so then the only reasons to attack DEI oil centers or refineries would be for:

1) Disruption of the flow of war materials to Japan-mens

2) Diversion of Japan-mens airpranes.

3) Machismo
