Hi guys,

I was just wondering if stations produce more income if I put several commerce station on there? (like 10 or so)
Or does it just generate more costs?

damn,... I always build several... so how else can I increase income? Can I build random star bases with commerce centers that will bring in cash? (besides resort bases)

Commerce centers themselves do not generate cash. They simply allow commerce to take place (ie trading).

I highly recommend watching some Lets Plays if you haven't already. It's much easier to digest all of the information about this game when it's presented in video format, at least for me.

The most income you got are from the tax of your homeworld !

The best would be you find independent colonies and colonize or invade them.

Other way, try to invade another empire's homeworld.
