5/7/42 A courageous cruiser force led by the Mikuma successfully bombarded an empty hex. That'll show 'em. A parade was held at Truk and the captain was awarded the Order of the Gorn Empire Emeritus (OGEE). He also received the Sash of Honor for Information Technologists for discovering this enemy weak point and exploiting it.

5/11/42 I just noticed that the British dogs have invaded Thailand. They will never return to the foetid swamps of Burma. They must have gotten lost following the Burma Shave signs.

5/12/42 West Virginia survived the attack on PH. I was hoping she hadn't.

Bit of trivia for the day: Oleomargarine became popular in the US due to butter rationing in WWII. Do you know what Gen. W. Bedell Smith had to say about it? "Ike can't believe it's not butter!"

5/28/42 Simultaneous landings at Tarakan and Kendari. Raiden is still in control of Ambon.

Raiden had reinforced Tarakan with some serious artillery, and their firing was too accurate for my tastes.

4/30/42 A date which will live in infamy. The cowardly Americans are retreating back onto the main island of Fiji. Will their depredations never cease?

As I'm playing the allies right now in the new AAR, I gotta stick up for em here. <grin> I'll trade 3 torps in three CV's (yes, two were CVE's) vs flaking the paint on the Illustrious and slightly damaging the Indomitable, I'd call slight advantage = Yankee Dogs!

I neglected to mention that a few days ago one of his subs got a crack at Shokaku, but failed, south of Kyushu. Nonetheless, he knows where she was then.

Now, the glorious Royal Thai Army has been capturing northern Thailand, and as you can see here they have nearly completed their task.

I think we are retreating in all the right directions.   After the game I would really like to have a discussion on the lizard economy at this point considering the scaly nuisances are only pulling fuel/oil out of the Brunei area in May.

I've periodically been saving screen grabs of the industry charts. Is there anything else you would like to see? My emails are all saved so I can go back in time if desired.

5/31/42 Here you can see the British gutless wonders of a carrier fleet fleeing from the scene and their desperate flailing away and lashing out at my brave forces.

How many times have I told you to rotate troops through the mess hall instead of sending them there all at the same time?

6/8/42 British CVs were reported to be in port at Batavia and I thought the KB would be in position in the morning in range of there. It didn't get far, perhaps because of the following encounter with the KB's screening force.

Raiden has been trying to find open flanks so he can interrupt supply. He gets rebuffed on this occasion.

The KB found some more small fry, mostly. It came here from the east of Borneo, leading landings at Tarakan, Samarinda, Balikpapan, Bandjermasin and also Kuching.

Finally, some of his retreating troops were running so fast they overran one of my positions.
