gamersgate has it for $6.80. Might be just right to pick up and play. There's also a bundle with RED turn for $7.49.

Not sure, but probably yes. Gamersgate is really just another store portal and the fact that they have the RED turn expansion to sell separately or in the bundle means that they are likely to support updates as well. And heck, for $7.49 how can you not go with that? I've bought dozens of titles there and they are no issues.

Hey geo. None of my business, but don't you think it kind of not right using Matrixs webspace to advertise that they buy from another source? I've used Gamersgate before and it is a good deal and Matrix pricing policy is certainly debatable, but imo, I would be upset if I were running things and were paying for that space.

I hope I haven't offended you as you're a good guy. But as a business man, I'm sure you can certainly relate.

Generally when a partner retailer has a sale that means the parent company or publisher also has a sale. I found it odd to see GG having the price slashed while Matrix has it pretty much full price. I am a big fan of Matrix as you know over the years but I also think that if a game is available for significantly less elsewhere the public/gamers should know. I sure would feel pretty upset about paying more. In fact that happened to me on the last title I bought from Matrix at FULL price and two weeks later they had it for 50% off. I contacted Matrix and received NO response. That's not cool.

I think its perfectly reasonable to point fellow gamers to a better deal; if Matrix/Slitherine can't/choose not to match the going rate (and GG and Steam have always sold UoC much cheaper) that's their problem. One which they have now mostly solved by the new policy of only releasing games as the sole publisher if not necessarily distributor.

Matrix are quite able to delete such posts should they wish, but to their credit have shown no inclination in the past to do so. Unlike one of their competitors I might mention... cough.

Well, Panzer Corps on Steam will certainly be interesting. I paid full on all of the stuff, and happy to do so. But by next Christmas, the Steam deals should be wild. A good opportunity to buy it for friends for MP play.

Again, I'm not against a bargain. We all work/have worked hard for our money and I've bought the same game elsewhere at a lower prices before. It wasn't with malice that you put up the info that is for sure.

Herston is probably right about having sole rights to the distribution. I don't understand the market and how some of these sites are able to compete with such open 'price wars', but their motive seems pretty transparent. We/you/I will probably pay more for certain titles as the proliferation of games certainly benefits the consumer.

Hopefully Matrix will one day permanently mark down older, and or less popular titles in their possession. So far they haven't given any indication that they plan to do so. In my unprofessional opinion it would at least benefit the relationship between them and their customers. But it has to make sense in a financial way also. To me, those two things are married to one another. To Matrix, maybe not?

they have matched price on permanent price drops, not on sales. Price control is probably a major reason they don't sell non exclusive stuff anymore.

I also think they are doing this for price control. :(
