I know the RL munition can be re-targeted while en route but i can't seem to get it to work in sim. Am I missing something or is TACTOM re-targeting not implemented?

Thanks!

Hello,

TACTOM's datalink is optional, ie. it can also function without it. If you are unable to control it then it is likely that at that moment it is not being linked to any compatible platform. You can confirm this visually by enabling datalinks from the map preferences.

Hi

To follow up -

I ensured there was a compatible unit (SSGN Ohio) which was data-linked with the TACTOM. The munition will allow new routing but it will not allow altitude or throttle changes, nor will it re-target anything. It proceeds to attack the target it was originally launched at despite "dropping all targets" from the original launch vehicle.

If you attempt to engage a new target, it will display the targeting vector for it but still attacks the original regardless. If however you re-load the scenario, all targets are dropped and munitions are unallocated (bug?) and you can then manually re-allocate each one as though you're doing it for the first time.

Thanks for the help!

Still not sure how this works... Cannot find it in the manual?

Also it seems like the Chinese SAMs are asleep, they don't seem to be engaging?

Hello,

The strange TACTOM re-targeting behaviour has come up before. There's a thread from a month ago about it HERE.

Does it match what you are seeing?
