You should try to remember that everyone buys or not buys for their own reasons. I bought the game first and foremost for the maps. I like maps. The game was, and always will be, secondary to me. That being said this is a very complicated game and I never played it before. So the printed manuals are very critical to my understanding and playability of the game. Are they 100% necessary, could I play without? Yes, of course I can. But to me, since I grew up reading books, I find sitting down and reading them to be a joy and not a chore. For me it's easier to thumb through a book than to look through a PDF. This above all else: Different strokes for different folks! PS: when I paid less than $200 (after shipping and taxes) for the maps, game, manuals I thought it was a bargain. I was quite prepared to pay $250. But that's just me. PPS: Yes, I too am unhappy about all the bugs, C'est la vie!
