Here's a couple of questions about mobile land units: 1. Can all mobile land units fire on the move, or are there "pack/unpack" times associated for some units? For example, an SA-8 should be able to fire on the move, while a Patriot or SA-20 battery would need some time to set up and then take down equipment before/after moving. 2. It looks like most GPS guided bombs cannot attack units with the capability of moving, regardless of whether they are moving or not. I'm guessing that is really a throwback to the early days of these weapons, when targeting coordinates could only be set by weaponeers at the airfield and not changed by pilots in flight. This lead to detect-to-engage times of many hours, and made early GPS weapons completely unsuitable for engaging anything with the ability to change position. However, most modern GPS bombs can be targeted by pilots these days, making GPS weapons perfectly suitable for engaging stationary mobile targets. As an example, an important mission of the F-22 is SEAD, using its ALR-94 ESM system for high-precision geo-locating of enemy SAM radars and then GBU-39 SDBs for attack. This would lead to a detect-to-engage cycle of just a few seconds. Would it be possible to model this in a future game upgrade, perhaps by allowing newer GPS bombs to target mobile units if they are not moving (with a stipulation that they automatically miss if the target moves during the bomb's flight time)?
