The Mission Step Name line just fills with periods.

is the problem related to mission "MsnSim28-00-08-01.xml" (Gemini <!-- EVA and docking -->)?

I believe so. It is the last Duration Level I Gemini mission. Here is a screenshot of the mission step when the game freezes. I reloaded the save game several times and it always freezes at the same spot.

confirmed, it's "MsnSim28-00-08-01.xml", and if you press skip to bypass the problem, the animation screen even start at the EVA step but with the launch anim, then go to the next step and it's the same problem.

Notice that "MsnSim28-00-13-01.xml" (EVA/duration 2) share the same layout.

Also notice that in both mission files (28-00-08-01 and 28-00-13-01), the crew can die tag is missing for the first EVA. And for all the EVA steps, the flight director (ID 12?) seems to be used as a FC.

Animation files are working.

ID #12 is actually the Assistant Flight Director on an Agena mission (with the extra Agena controllers, the numbers for the back-row controllers are higher than other missions).

sorry, I read the wrong list in the DOC...

What is strange is that the mission 13 is working (same layout as mission 8).

The script has been updated to correct the CrewCanPerish flag for EVA (yeah, you could die doing that...), so that should be in the next patch. The script otherwise passes all of the tests we've been given, so that's all I know to do without Ignacio pointing out something else. This is an open item on the bug list, so he knows that he needs to take a look at it.

This one is working now, the solution will be included in 0.7.15 this Friday. Notice that, after loading the game, you'll need to scrub the scheduled mission and schedule it again. After that the mission will run fine.
