I have stopped playing this on the iPad as there are no advanced options and the three bonus difficulties do not work. While I paid the same price as the PC version it doesn't sound like a major patch will be available anytime soon for the game. And there are many bugs... Which I will state now.
1. In field marshal on the first turn you run into 5str point units.
2. When a unit gets a hero during the AI turn you can't exit out and are unable to see the rest of the turn.
3. You can para any unit with their transports onto any controlled airfield .
4. The screen jumps sometimes when you deploy or move a unit and moves your unit elsewhere.
5. Once you spend a ton of hours defeating this game you're reward is nothing because the higher difficulties don't work.
6. Field marshal difficulty in the dlc is suspect at best.
7. I almost forgot after posting this in another forum. Even WITHOUT transport your para units must deploy first to the ground then move unto a controlled airport!
8. V rockets are allowed to refuel and repair next to or directly on an airfield
9. First for me. Played thru the whole 1939 dlc twice on FM without receiving one SE unit.
10. When you go from dlc campaign to dlc campaign it does not give you the date which you last played like the PC version. Be careful as you could be importing your 1940 units into dlc 1943 east scn, in which case you are screwed bc it saves once you do this. (Trust me this sucks!)

We have told you numerous times we are working on a patch and it will be out as soon as the issues are fixed. Getting helpful feedback that gives specific issues is the key to this. Vague complaints don't really help progress things. Thanks for the help.

I'm more concerned about reports of choppy scrolling and difficult to read text and navigate UI. Are those reports accurate?

Not for me and my fifty eight year old eyes on ipad mini (non retina). Minor little things to fix, things like battle detail to add. Iain and company are a first class team and are in process of polishing this gem. I don't get anyone being antagonistic about this. The full package is awesome to play anywhere on mini. I think back to being locked to a desktop, and then a heavy portable, to be able to play on the go. And now this? I am grateful for this, the full package of BA, and a bunch of good Stackpole military books on my Kindle app.

Yes it is very choppy. You have a 50/50 chance of the unit you select going to to the place you want to go to. I don't know how much longer I have before they ban me in fact this might be my last post. I think the public should know this game is flawed in more ways than one on the iPad. They don't like to hear that but all they can say is we are working on a patch but as far as I know (and I follow this game like the bible) is they are working on a volume issue. In fact in one post the main person working on this the apple computer went down so the future patch will be delayed. I have given you Very specific issues that need to be fixed and all you demand is screen shots. I take screen shots and upload them but your server only tells me that the file is to large. I say again if the testers played thru the main campaign on field marshal and then tried playing the dcls from all the way thru 1939-1945 they would have caught several ,perhaps not all the bugs in this game. Yes the game works fine on colonel level and down. I spent $80 on this thinking it would be the the same as the PC version. I can honestly say it is not. When I questioned if they really did play tested the dlc, they more ore less threaten to ban me. I'm very passionate about this game, however I am very disappointed with the iPad version.

May I ask what level of difficulty you are playing on? Have you played all the dlcs from start to finish? Have you defeated the Wehrmacht campaign on field marshal ? Tried playing on Rommel level yet? I can tell you honestly I think I played (on the iPad version at least 500 hours plus playing on every level every dlc and add on. While like you I am thankful this came out for the iPad it is priced at the same price as the PC version. With half the features. I am happy you are enjoying the game. For those of us who demand a greater challenge however it is simply not available yet.

rogo, despite your constant negative postings on this subject you are still here. Your reports on the issues you perceive with higher difficulty levels have been almost absurdly vague despite being asked many times for more details. You insist on posting utter lies - such as the above post where you claim that only a volume issue is being worked on, ignoring multiple posts from developers stating that many other bugs have been fixed and will be part of the patch. You hijack any thread with your complaints, as if in some way you have not been heard. All to complain that, after 500 hours of playing, you found a bug. And that this bug in some way means that the iPad version only has "half the features". All while belittling anyone who posts positive comments.

Take a breath. Wait for the patch.

Pip

How can one hijack ones thread? If you read the first post you will see it's more than just one bug. When I say half the features yes the advanced options are non existent and no editor. So when I say the three difficulty levels don't work at all how is that vague? Yes it's all lies good grief that really hurt pip. How are you not belittling me right now? For goodness sake I spent $80 on this. You can buy the same game on the PC for that price and get much, much more. If you play the very first scn in dlc 1939 you will run into a polish cav of 5str on FM. Now play the same scn on the PC on FM and you will notice the same cav unit has 10 str. It's like this for every dlc on FM. I would much rather PM you with these issues if I thought you would listen but now we have to wait for other people to report them for them to be true. I'm not nor do I want to start a flame war as your CEO claims I just want to fix this game. Thanks.

We've been clear from day 1 that there would be no editor, so bringing that up just makes you look foolish. And I accused you of lying by giving an example of a lie in the previous post. But let me be clear.

This is a useful bug report:

"If you play the very first scn in dlc 1939 you will run into a polish cav of 5str on FM. Now play the same scn on the PC on FM and you will notice the same cav unit has 10 str."

This, which you have included in almost every post you make, is not:

"... the three difficulty levels don't work at all..."

Nor is ranting that you only get "half the features".

But I'll take you at your word. You want nothing more than to fix the game. OK then. You've reported the bug and have multiple responses. Constantly reposting the same complaints in multiple threads wastes our development time. So there is very simple logical outcome from those facts.

Cheers

Pip

Fine you win Pip. The world is flat. I'm sorry that you are calling me a liar when I say the three bonus difficulties simply do not work . Yes all the advanced option are missing so I'm being kind when I say half. I did play every dlc on FM.! There are a lot of bugs. This will be my last post as I feel I'm having an discussion with only myself. Kinda hurts when you have a moderator outright call you a liar when these issues do exist . I do hope you keep your word as I don't want to see $80 wasted.

I'm just curious, but is this how Slitherine always treats its customers? Or is this some new trend that is starting?

DontSayIt there is a lot of history you are unaware of and Rogo has stepped way beyond the line and this is clearly a new account and you are unaware of it. The tone of some members over the last 2 years has significantly deteriorated and we need to remind them that the forum is place for friendly discussion and support and not somewhere to conduct some political campaign with an agenda.

Rogo this is an official warning that if you persist in this course of action you will be banned from our sites. If you have nothing productive to say, then say nothing. Currently you just look for ways to misinterpret what has been said by others. I don't know what your agenda is but this is the end of the line.

Why are you creating software and asking $80 for it if you can't take some well knowledged criticism?

We listen to all feedback and criticism and respond to it as you can see from the hundreds of messages and responses in the various forums. The community is a vital part of improving the games. The above is trolling and trolling is not permitted and that applies to you to DontSayIt. Thread locked.
