Well, that's it. John has pulled off the impossible and has constructed enough of a wall that my cross-snow attack will surely be stopped.
D'oh. Well, I need to do it anyway. I'm going to attack just to say I did.

OK. I've moved some NKVD units into the breech and as I suspected that John has constructed a light screen in such a way that
passage is hampered. And hampered just enough to buy enough time to get more units into the breech. D'oh. Maybe I can find a
weak spot somewhere.

I would be guessing if I said anything but I'm hoping it's good for at least 5 turns or so.

I've got a tank brigade that has 80% supply and 80% readiness and it's STILL yellow. I couldn't understand that so I thought I'd take a
look inside, under the hood so to say. There's a couple of categories where the unit is low on something but not to enough extent to
turn the unit yellow. I would have thought. So I learn stuff about this game all the time.

Here's what it looks like just north of Leningrad now. I've infiltrated somewhat. I'm hoping I can scare John enough to cause him to
withdraw his forces totally. HA.

Here's what it looks like around Lake P. now. I've gotten my forces onto the opposite side of the lake and now I just need to blast my
way through his lines. I've infiltrated somewhat.......I don't know what that will bring next turn.

Here's Lake P. in T57. We're locked in severe fighting. I'm doing three-dot attacks to try to gain the upper hand but it's looking like I'm
stopped at lakeside.

I don't know if it's crazy bold or not........it's more like I have nothing to lose because of the crippling blow the loss of the rail was.
I'm fighting w/ one hand tied behind me now. This is my battle of the bulge I guess. And are they in supply.......I don't think so. I'll
look into it and get back to you.

Um.....if the lake were to thaw right now all my units would be stranded on the opposite bank out of supply and trapped like rats.
This is more or less all or nothing.

Here you go Petey: Here's the proof that supply DOES move across the ice. Supply still goes away when the ice does though. I think.

Here's where the life and death struggle is going on. I've got a Corps of Guards Divisions headed for this spot. The head of the
column is seen in the lower right corner. I expect them to be able to break open a hole. That's the theory.

Interesting that supply does go across the ice. However the units ON the ice are not in supply.

Just an update to the AAR: We're still locked in a gynormous struggle around Lake P. John has railed some more troops into the
area and has flown about 14 squadrons north to this area. He's serious about getting the upper hand here.

I just pulled the trigger and ran combat round one and I did about 30 airfield strikes and there's a change in the air war numbers.
Here's the numbers now:

T63 and we're still locked in a fantastic struggle. I'm doing three-dot attacks to try to dominate but it's not working. My guys just
get tired faster. It's not looking good.

Great fight so far at lake P! Be interesting to see what happens when the heavy guards are fully committed.

I agree. I've gotten some of them into the fight already. I'm hoping they will open a hole somewhere.

Here's the front lines in T65. Nothing has changed since turn 10 I think. It's gotten boring and tedious.

Yes, it would appear he decided on a war of attrition early on. You will have massive amounts of artillery and air. Begin now by pounding him with every piece of artillery you have each and every turn. Don't even bother with an offensive until winter 1942/1943. When your artillery divisions pile up pound even more. Mass your 203mm and higher where you want a break through so they can dig him out of his fortifications. Gain air dominance.

Be the bulldozer.

Of course if you are using 3.4 with all of it's flaws then forget about doing anything except watching the turns pass.

Hey there Lobster dude: You have some really good advice there. Thanks. Unfortunately we're using 3.4
and it's got flaws I guess. I've been attacking without let up for about 10 turns in a row now and I'm
losing a lot of people and equipment and not much is changing. I'm going to have to give my boys a rest
soon. They are getting worn down and tired.

Using 3.4 without the patches? Ouch. You guys need to bail on this one and start one with the AA and RFC fixes. You'll both fall asleep if you keep with the generic 3.4 version. Only so much time in a life, right?
