Is the naval combat system treating convoy's correctly? I'm frankly surprised no-one has posted about this previously?

Here is what is happening in my game:

Damage results are destroying 1CP (instead of damaging 2)
Aborts are treating each 1CP as a full ship i.e. 3Aborts aborts 3CP (instead of 6)

In fact only Destroys results seems to be working correctly.

You will find it is correct based on the rules.

1 destroyed = 2 convoy points sunk
1 damaged = 1 convoy point sunk
3 aborted = 3 convoy points aborted

Exactly what your screen shot shows.

RAC 11.5.8 Page 58
CONVOYS
Every 2 convoy points counts as a ship for resolving combat. An ‘X’ result destroys 2 convoy points; a ‘D’ result destroys 1 convoy point and an ‘A’ result aborts 1 convoy point. Clarification: If a player has only one convoy point, he can choose it to take an X result. But if there is more than one, two convoy points are lost.

Well that is strange 2CP = 1 ship (as you quoted above). Why would then contradict this when applying results.

I'm curious to know what is the logic behind this?

nevermind, i just realise it's in RAW7 this way. Curious that i never ever played it that way in any of my WIF games (sheepish look).

In my defense my group plays with RAW8 which has change it to a non-contradictory rule :)

Maybe you were conditioned to playing WiF Classic, which does have damage results possible.

1X 1D 3A = 3CP sunk + 3CP aborted. Isnt the screen short one CP sunk? The X is only sinking one CP as it seems.

On the screen shot, there is a 2 CP unit destroyed, and a 1 CP unit destroyed. This is three CPs destroyed, and is correct.
