Hello helpers,

Does anyone know the number of fighters in a Japanese squadron (F15s, F4s,F2s)

I would like to do a scneario around the "senkaku" islands

Wikipedia has a ton of info on the JASDF.

Google and wikipedia are usually my friends, but I had no luck finding detailled information like for example "how many F15s are in the 204th fighter squadron"...

Gave it several runs today, without success on getting informations about squad sizes. Regarding quantity of F15's and number of squadrons operating her, i would estimate a squadron roughly between 16-24 aircrafts.

Choose your source of total number of AC, example Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Air_Self-Defense_Force says 153 F-15J and 45 F-15DJs from Flightglobals WAF 2013.

Then go to http://www.scramble.nl/orbats and pick Japan http://www.scramble.nl/orbats/japan/overview

Count how many squadrons of F-15Js there are...I count 9 combat squadrons....which equals...17 F-15Js and 5 F-15DJs per

You could even subtract 1-2 from combat squadrons to fill the training and R&D squadrons

Thanks for looking into it Rudd, I did the same thing as you using www.scramble.net, I could define the exact number of fighters per squadron... If only I had known about this web site before...
