Have tried numerous CV scenarios and noticed a couple of things. First, in the A/C ready panel there is no way (that I have seen) to set alert A/C. When you launch A/C, you get the 'moving to elevator' status message. This implies all A/C are sitting in the hangar. In actuality, most (US)CV A/C are deck spotted when conducting flight ops.
Also, when setting CAP missions, my fighters launch individually and transit to CAP station solo. If I try to group A/C when actually on station together, they RTB (build 486.
US CVs have 3-4 catapults and I should be able to launch multiple A/C simultaneously. It seems CVs are limited by the same logic that governs airfiled sortie rates.

Deck management is interesting but we haven't implemented anything with it. I don't think players are suffering as much as the first flight ordered up usually take 3-4 minutes to launch.

Cap Flight. Yes they'll launch individually. Try manually launching, grouping and then attaching to the mission.

If you do see issues please do post .save files. We've been doing this awhile and having examples helps us get to a resolution quicker as we can see the problem.

Thanks!

Mike

As for deck management, I have a feature request ticket assigned to me that says ' all ready aircraft should be moved to flight deck '. Should solve the above issue.

Being able to launch CAP in pairs is another big issue I'll look at. The mission editor should have a drop-down list where the player/scenario designer can set the number of planes per group. Typically, 2 for fighters, 3 for bomber cells, and 4 or 6 for strike aircraft.

I'll also look at the catapult launch rates.

Thanks again for the quick response, guys! One of the serious upsides is how involved you guys are with A)constantly improving and tweaking the game, and B) staying in touch and in tune with the player base. Impressive!

--Mike: sorry for the nitpicky CAP issue...your solution works just fine...wait for both birds to launch then assign to mission. Should have thought of that myself.
--Ragnar: good to hear that you are on top of stuff.

My humblest apologies gentlemen. After review and experimentation I realized I didn't have enough A/C assigned to my CAP mission (only had 5 instead of 6) so my birds were launching singly. Just cancelled a CAP mission and reassigned a new one and both F14s launched together. So Solly!!!!
